In What's on Your Plate, director Catherine Gund teams up with two eleven-year-old girls from New York City to find out where their food comes from. The film follows the two girls, Sadie and Safiyah, as they explore the food systems of New York City. They take a look at the food kids are eating in school lunchrooms, where the food comes from, and the possibilities of making school cafeterias healthier. The girls also look at various sustainable food systems in the city, including greenmarkets and community supported agriculture.
