World Peace March

On October 2nd, the first ever planetary march for peace began. The World March for Peace and Nonviolence will be traveling 100,000 miles through five continents, asking for individuals who dream of a brighter future to join in what so far has already been an epic event that doesn’t conclude until January 2, 2010. From Jimmy Carter to his holiness the Dali Lama, the march is endorsed by a wide range of politicians, champion athletes, filmmakers, and musicians (including Lou Reed) who ask that we all--especially our government leaders--finally take the initiative to renounce violence as a way to end conflict.
To get the event under way, over a thousand people gathered at the Milano de Cathedral in Italy to sing John Lennon’s "Imagine", a video of it can be found on the events website, www.theworldmarch.org. While the event may not end world violence, the act is the first of its kind on this magnitude and is proof that there is hope for us believers. As supporter John Benn has stated, “Hope is the fuel for human progress.”

Invitation to review my site and support it
You and your friends could find interesting reading in LEARNERS: On the Move from WeaponWorld to PeaceWorld, my Web samizdat on World Peace.
This text studies what we would need to construct a solid World Peace in our lifetime. I am looking for fellow Learners, expert translators in every language, and talented illustrators who would work on it for the same reason I do: for the glory of seeing it done.
LEARNERS is written in three Sections:
Why we’re not there already;
How we achieve it; and
What we should expect from it.
Erasmus used the new printing press to broadcast his dream of Humanism; I am using World Wide Web to broadcast my dream of PeaceWorld. Thereafter, it was just a question of the receptivity and enthusiasm of those who bother to read something new. Our ambitions were equally monumental. We shall see if a new global readership will rise to the occasion.
Please search – “learners, peaceworld” – in Google.

Should mutual links sound good to you, please email me to that effect, and we will set them up. In hopes of your assistance in broadcasting this work.
