Spontaneous Improvisations and Speculations

Join us at the Lovin' Cup Cafe in
Williamsburg, Brooklyn this Monday evening, Jan 10th, for an open dialogue between
visionary Daniel Pinchbeck and creative cross-pollinator Reggie Watts.
Daniel Pinchbeck is the author of 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl (Tarcher/Penguin, 2006) and Breaking Open the Head (Broadway Books, 2002). Pinchbeck lives in New York’s East Village, where he is editorial director of Reality Sandwich. His new documentary 2012: Time for Change explores meditation, sustainable living, and psychedelics as a means of shifting the current global paradigm.
Reggie Watts is a performative disinformationist, set on disorienting his audience in an exceedingly entertaining way. Fusing comedy & music using only his voice and a looping machine, Watts deconstructs language and streams his consciousness is a musical broadcast that will undoubtedly have you laughing while your consciousness expands.
With Watts' spontaneous improvisational skills and Pinchbeck's radical speculations, an open dialogue could go in almost any direction. How are altered states useful to us in or quest for transformation? Where is the coherence between thought in action? Why do we bother being creative in times of planetary crisis? What happens when we deconstruct language? And just what is actually going to go down in 2012?
