Voices Against the Bailout
Stephen Hershey
When the U.S. financial system's $700 billion bailout was still in preliminary stages, protestors gathered on Wall Street to give the government a piece of their mind. Although over 1,000 attended the event, it received very little media coverage.
As the government now owns a large percentage of mortgage-backed securities, they have seized the investments of many middle-class homes while producing funds for indebted corporate giants, destroying the value of the dollar bill. One protestor replied, "They want our money? They can borrow it. With interest."

This is the
first I heard of this protest.. Score another for the good old media: as long as we are rewarding failure, we should give Big Media a nice moon base! Thank you RS for keeping it real. Btw the dow is now well below ten thousand; nice job congress.
