Graham Hancock on The Supernatural
This talk by author and visionary Graham Hancock took place at RS’s 2009 Supernatural retreat in Boulder, UT. It highlights the spiritual insights provided by psychedelics throughout the world, focusing on the effects of the Amazonian vine, ayahuasca. The video is directed and edited by Andrew Hasse.
Hancock criticizes the non-shamanic figures of modern religion as “jealous intermediaries” of the divine, a form of the patriarchal, “dominator society” that has shaped our world for thousands of years. The shamans, he counters, are “masters of altered states of consciousness.” Surrendering to visionary plants such as peyote, datura, psilocybin, Africa's ibogain, and ayahuasca enable the user to transcend freely to trans-personal and universal realms.
Graham Hancock has published dozens of bestselling books over the past two decades, including the new novel Entangled: The Eater of Souls, the first chapters of which appeared on Reality Sandwich. Click here to read Chapter One.
