Biographical
I am a curator, producer, anthropologist and performing artist who has been working in New York since 1999. I have the current honor of being the Director of Development for Performance Space 122 http://www.ps122.org/ and the curator of the 2010 Prelude Festival http://www.preludenyc.org/, but well before either of those I managed Richard Foreman’s theater for 2 years in the middle of this past decade and have been sitting on the Board since. I was in his 2008-09 Astronome, and he has some footage of me in a pewter ball gown that he may or may not use if he ever gets around to editing his New York film footage together. I am hopefully defending my dissertation Tendirls of Lost Time and the Self: An Aesthetic Anthropology of New York City’s “Post”-Avant-Garde in Anthropology at Columbia this Spring. During the early years of my graduate studies, the year the towers fell and the year after that, I wrote a number of crap papers about Foreman that I should find and burn. Sadly I have not yet been knighted by the French, but I did have a Fulbright in 1998-99, and I have also not been given a MacArthur genius grant, but I was awarded the N. Penrose Hallowell Award for Theater from my high school, Philips Academy (Andover – NOT Exeter – they had to have 3 feet on the floor when they had visits of the opposite sex).
