Biographical

Mark Pilkington is a writer, editor and filmmaker. As head cheese of Strange Attractor Press (SAP) he edits and publishes the highly-praised anthology of cultural marginalia, Strange Attractor Journal, which was described in the Independent on Sunday’s Best of the Year 2005 as ‘a unique and necessary collection of eccentric scholarship, weird journalism and obsessive research.’ Journal Three was chosen as Nicholas Lezard’s ‘Pick of the Week’ in January 2007. You can learn more about Strange Attractor at http://www.strangeattractor.co.uk. SAP also recently published, The Field Guide: The Art History & Philosophy of Crop Circle Making.

For two years Mark wrote a weekly weird science column, Far Out, for The Guardian's Life supplement (soon to be published as a collection by Disinformation Publishing of New York), and has been a contributing editor to Fortean Times magazine, where he worked as staff writer for several years. He has also written for, amongst others, The Times, The Wire, Arthur, Plan B and has contributed to fiction and non-fiction anthologies including London Noir, published by Serpent’s Tail, The DVD Stack, published by Canongate, and The Time Out Book of London Walks Volume II

In his spare time Mark broadcasts on London’s Resonance FM, and performs with the sci-art sound project Disinformation, sitar and synth duo Raagnagrok, and other experimental musical outfits.
