Biographical
i am an artist and therapist working with broken, grey, angry children and teens. i was born in 1977 in western massachusetts. I was a wistful, spiritual child in a rather conventional, if damaging, home. Since childhood i have been having lucid, beautiful, powerful, sometimes horrific dreams... and have at times considered them the center of my life.
the attention i have payed to my spiritual self has been sporadic, but it has always been an undercurrent which sometimes calls loudly. recently i have been noticing images around me that remind me of a singular prophetic dream i had in the late 1990's.
in doing an internet search for a symbol branded on my hand in the dream i stumbled upon this site... and well... holy shit! Many of the things i have read here give names and substance to ideas and experiences that i thought were mine alone.
i am fairly ecstatic about the notion of reading and learning more...
a bit about my name. i first came across it several years ago on a friends trivial pursuit card, which i slipped into my pocket. it sounded beautiful... i found it again recently and have discovered it to be more interesting than i thought.
lutinebelle
-from the lutine bell, which was historically struck in london to commemorate the loss or return of a ship, it is now reserved for dis·as·trous events such as 911 or the tsunami. occasionally it is still rung when something thought lost is recovered.
lutine is a french word for a sort of fairy or goblin.
Le Prince Lutin, written in 1697 has a description of the air, water and terrestrial lutine: "You are invisible when you like it; you cross in one moment the vast space of the universe; you rise without having wings; you go through the ground without dying; you penetrate the abysses of the sea without drowning; you enter everywhere, though the windows and the doors are closed; and, when you decide to, you can let yourself be seen in your natural form."
