Biographical
Jonathan Phillips grew up in the Colorado Rockies. He has worked for The September 11th Fund, served as a columnist for Music for America and spearheaded the street theater/media group, Greene Dragon. After experiencing a number of mystical experiences, kundalini awakenings, and “miraculous” encounters, Jonathan turned his focus towards spirituality. He currently serves as Reality Sandwich’s Community Director, doing “The Electric Jesus” and “Sex and Spirit” podcasts. He is also executive editor of the NYC events newsletter, Souldish.com, and organizes the NYC Gnostics. He is a Reiki Master Practitioner and leads Sacred Warrior and Electric Jesus workshops, using energy work to bring out the divine (see below).
Sacred Warrior Workshop
A sacred warrior is one who walks in harmony with the divine power of the universe, leading from the heart, on our journey to remember universal oneness. In this workshop, we will incorporate the wisdom of yoga, Reiki, shamanism, and the ancient Gnostics to access our own divine energy while bringing in more compassion, confidence, and healing into our own lives, and the world around us.
Sacred Warrior I: Peaceful Power
In this workshop, we will discuss and discover the cosmic force we call energy, learning how to sense and work with its divine power for healing and transformation in the world. Exercises include polarity work, breath meditations, eye gazing, sacred warrior visualizations, and interactive heart openings. We will also journey into the shadow self, acknowledging its lessons for overcoming our own fears, then take that knowledge to let in our own abundant divine power and grace. The workshop will teach us to live and lead by the heart, while allowing our true voice to be heard.
Sacred Warrior II: Wheels of Light
In this workshop, we will ascend The Tree of Life (the spine), working on mastering the spiritual, psychological, and physical qualities of the sacred energy centers (chakras) of the body. A combination of breathing techniques, grounding exercises, movement, chanting, visualizations, and ancient Gnostic wisdom will invigorate these spiritual energy centers. We will end with an in depth, full-bodied kundalini meditation to awaken our own divine spark, allowing each of us to experience a greater sense of health, happiness, and universal compassion.
The Electric Jesus: Energy, Gnosis, & Spiritual Awakening:
Uncover the mysteries of the universe through lost sacred scrolls, Earth's mystical history, visionary science, and the human energy field. In this visual presentation, we will learn how early Christians utilized spiritual energy to heal, transform and find answers to the most important questions of our lives. Unlock the "electric" secrets and alchemical wisdom of universal symbols like the tree of life, the serpent, the dove, the cross, the holy spirit, and the Star of David. Overcome 2,000 years of mistranslations to see how Jesus was a master "soter" (meaning "healer," not "savior") who utilized the lessons of karma, compassion, energy healing, and spiritual allegory to bring "gnosis" (divine revelation) to our own journey home.
