Biographical

BARBARA ALICE MANN, an Ohio Bear Clan Seneca, is a Professor in the Honors College of the University of Toledo. Her scholarship in Native American Studies has resulted in several books, among them The Tainted Gift: The Disease Method of Frontier Advance (2009), George Washington's War on Native America (2005), Native Americans, Archaeologists, and the Mounds (2003); and Iroquoian Women: The Gantowisas (2000), as well as numerous articles and book chapters. As co-director of the Native American Alliance of Ohio, she lives, writes, teaches, and works for indigenous causes in Ohio.
