Biographical

Andy Dale is the founder and president of ooTao, having worked in software development for over 10 years as a company principal and team leader.

Andy has enjoyed many years of successfully working with large multinational organizations such as: Citibank, Bank of America, Monsanto, Gap and IBM as well as smaller technology innovators Identity Commons, Social Physics, Envoii and 2idi.

Andy serves as a Senior Architect to several organizations in the areas of Secure Distributed Data Management and Visualization including Identity Commons and Natural Logic. He is listed as a co-inventor on two patent applications in the areas of digital identity and secure data sharing

Andy is an active member of the OASIS XDI Technical Committee, an Eclipse Committer on the Higgins project and an active member of the OpenID 2.0 community. He is also a co-founder of the Virtual Rights Institute.

ooTao is currently working on several data integration and data sharing projects based on emerging distributed data and distributed identity standards. These projects include the OpenID and XDI enabling of the Kintera systems to make data stored in the Kintera systems available for integration via standards based interfaces and the WISER Commons (a project of NCI) project, an effort to build a shared ‘virtual database’ about, and for, the international nonprofit community.

In the specific projects above and in other, less public, efforts, Andy works to ensure that today’s data integration projects look beyond narrow custom solutions to standards based abstractions that enable broad based, secure, fine grained, socially sensitive, network optimized data sharing that can be the basis for building a real ‘DataWeb’.
