U.S. Cannabis Cafe

Last month, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that it would not prosecute people who use medicinal marijuana in legalized states, allowing individual states to enforce their own laws. A month later after this Federal appeasement, the state of Oregon introduces the first Cannabis Cafe, taking that all-important first step in the movement towards marijuana legalization.
The cafe is open to Oregon's NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana, members and medicinal marijuana card holders, which number 21,000 in the state alone. Even though growing, possessing, distributing and smoking marijuana are still illegal under U.S. federal law, which makes no distinction between medical and recreational use, Federal and local law enforcements in Oregon neglected to comment about the cafe's operation, but local business owners have voiced their optimism about the unprecedented prospects the cafe may bring to the neighborhood's economy.

Up with pot cafes!
Ancient history
After being discharged from the Marines in '70 I lived in St. Petersburg FL, became ordained as a minister in the Universal Life Church (I think it cost me $25) and officiated as the spiritual leader of the St. Pete Marijuana Legalization Movement (MLM).
I gotta tell ya, it's taking way too long, but I'm happy to finally see a change for more freedom in this regard.
The reporters who interviewed the owners for this story were taken into the cafe' and shown around the place, but were not allowed to witness those in another part of the building who were partaking at the time. Careful... Careful... Here we go!

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. You’ve got a design here that’s not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what you’re saying. Great job, indeed.
