The TreeSpirit Project

We might all too frequently overlook the elegance and beauty of trees as we rush through our busy lives, but photographer Jack Gescheidt's images in the TreeSpirit Project provide an enchanting reminder.
Gescheidt started the project after stumbling across a powerful sinewy coast live oak tree -- a tree he now refers to as "Grandmother" -- in Marin Country, California in 2003. None of the people in the photographs are paid models; all are tree-loving participants in the project. And Gescheidt donates 10 percent ofhis profits to environmental non-profit organizations.
