About the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch
The Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch is operated by two RS directors, who have held many amazing and successful retreats on site over the last year. The ranch is located on 148 acres of breathtaking views overlooking the Grand Staircase- Escalante. The property is surrounded by two million acres of Dixie National Forest giving you all the serenity and beauty the area has to offer. Hiking (to a waterfall), observing nature and exploring an indigenous ecosystem can be done right from our property or you can take advantage of the wonders of the surrounding area. Access to Boulder Mountain Swells (highest peak 11,328 ft.) and the famous Boulder Mountain Hells Backbone Bridge is just a few minutes away.
Boulder Mountain with a 50,000 acre summit makes up half of the Aquarius Plateau, a heavily forested area that descends upon slick rock, slot canyons and desert grottos. You can experience five of the planet's seven 'life zones' in a 15 mile decent to 4,800 ft. elevation, as well as the largest biomass on the planet (an Aspen grove). National Geographic ranked this area as the third healthiest ecosystem on Earth. The ranch is one mile from the Northeast border of the Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument which consists of 1.9 million acres of waterfalls, slick rock, sandstone and slot canyons, unique rock formations, palentology and cliff terraces. Anasazi and Freemont Indian dwellings, petroglyphs and pictographs scatter this wonderland that is chock-full of adventure, pristine landscapes and abundant wildlife.
Directions:
The Boulder Mountain Ranch can be found approximatley 4.25 hours South of Salt Lake City Utah or about 5.5 hours Northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, driving through Zions National Park and Bryce National Park (60 miles West), in Salt Gulch on the Hell's Backbone Road 3.5 miles west of Utah's Highway 12. It is just 7 miles Southwest from the small town of Boulder, Utah where you can find the Anasazi Indian State Park and the famous Burr Trail and very close to Capitol Reef National Park (40 miles East). Sounds like something to be part of. I assume campers will have access to showers/bathrooms? I think I might have to make a road trip from Oregon for this one... thanks! Rob

# of People at Retreat
I believe we've capped the event at 45, so this should be an intimate retreat for all of those who come and a good way to get to know Daniel, Dennis, Charles and more of the RS crew. As for photos, I'm sure you can shoot that. Also, perhaps you'd like to shoot some video that we could put up on RS. If so, just contact me through the site.
a live webcast?
hi Jonathan, might you consider live webcasting 1 evening? I've been looking into this:

Salt Lake City to Boulder?
SLC to Boulder, UT
Hi Jedi Mind Traveler, I'd email Brandie above and see what she knows about transportation. We may have a caravan heading from Salt Lake.

What kind of participants are you seeking??
Come On Down
If you're curious and open minded, I think you'll find the retreat rewarding -- and a lot of fun. We're all learning from each other as we go.

Uh, Yass
Excuse me? For interrupting here?
Ah, yes, I just came back from there?
You know: uh: 2013?
And they asked me to tell us?
to kindly stop looking forward to their time?
Because it is really messing things up there?
It would have gone okay, they told me?
Only, people didn't act right, like, you know: naturally?
They came forward in time? Like, with, you know: expectations?
So they're feeling kind of bummed right now, and asked me to ask, you know, like all of us to, like: stop looking forward to that? And just be, like, you know, natural and not stupid? like we are when we get there kind of thing?
Okay. That's all they said. Don't shoot me. Like, I'm onl a messenger and all like kind of like that kind of thing.
More are coming back too, but they missed the bus.
Okay, Roger, over and out.

Hello, I am looking to bring
Hello, I am looking to bring a few inexperienced friends on a hiking/camping trip. Basically I'd like to have the group hike for most of the day and camp at our final destination. I'm looking for at least two to three miles and it would be great if the hike back to the car thenext day was a different trail. There seems to be a great number of trails to chose from, but I'm not sure if we'll be able to set up camp on all of them, can anyone provide some information as to how that works? Thank you. cairo flights
