[The Ayahuasca Monologues] • Visionary artist Alex Grey shares his hilarious, horrific, and heartening adventures with "the champagne of ayahuascas."  He visits "all the horrors wrought on humanity," but comes out exploring fantastical landscapes that inspire his paintings while uncovering the ultimate lesson: "to surrender to love." Can you see me now?

Cool. I loved his impression of the chastising voice, taking him to task about his attempt at Buddha-hood. The point he wraps up on, surrendering to love; first loving yourself, is beautiful. I might have said discovering that you love yourself but I am not Alex Grey and have not taken Ayahuasca. He's a petty cool cat and his story telling is very entertaining and uplifting, much like his art. And facial expressions!

Phi is not the only fruit.

I always enjoy hearing Alex

I always enjoy hearing Alex speak, he is just such a down to earth guy with something to say!

I put together a little dittie for this podcast I'm working on, and you can give it a listen at the link: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/8/10/2044326/Sanchos%20Stuff/Alex%20Gr...

It's Alex talking about his first Aya trip but from another video on YouTube somewhere. . .and the background is Tool's song "Lost Keys(Blame Hoffman)" which is beautiful and hypnotic.

La Purga

His evocation of the purge is palpable and touching. If there's one aspect of the Aya experience that stays with me, its the inconceivable depth and breadth of the purge, of the spasm of history and doubt and relief and impossible power, in each "purge"--the release of something toxic to every being of nature.

Alex & the Cosm Tour

Alex has got such a down-to-earth attitude and wonderful sense of humor in describing strange and visionary things. If you haven't taken his personal tour of the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in NYC, I highly recommend it, especially since they'll be moving soon. He really does bring you into the heart and story of what was behind each painting.

Alex you must visit Vancouver

Greetings Alex, You must come to Vancouver BC Canada to do a show. A a matter of fact you could come NOW while Roland Emmerich (director of Independence Day) is in town to film his latest work--- 2012!!! I have No idea if the psychedelic research of Mckenna/Pinchbeck/Strassman is being used in the script. Couple that with the fact that the Buddhists claim to have found the center of the universe at Savona BC Canada and some great BC psychedelic mushrooms. WOW alot of material!!! I would love to see what your genius would come up with tripping at this center of the universe? Please think of making a trip to Vancouver and gracing us with your ART!

Surrendering to Love

Alex Grey has such an amazing ability to connect to people by sharing his own personal anecdotes. When I drank ayahuasca this past spring break I had very similar experiences. Once your heart chakra is open you can truly enhance your experience. Your intention and purpose of using this sacred medicina plays a huge role as well. Ayahuasca is very healing and can physically, emotionally, and spiritually heal you. I wish I could have attended this ayahuasca monologues. Great work Reality Sandwich and thank you for delivering this message. “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” -Mawlana Muhammed Jalal ad-Din
