Sufi for the Soul

hudost two.jpg

“The Mysteries of HU revealed the other pole of human life: the ascent out of the body into the 'glorified' state of expansion of the consciousness in the spiritual world." Eleanor C. Merry

Alt World musical ensemble HuDost is taking their Sufi-inspired songs on the road, traveling from California to New York to Pennsylvania.  The group takes its name from Hu, the nameless capacity of God and "Dost," meaning true friend. Their music is filled with exotic instruments many have rarely heard with lead singer Moksha Sommer carrying the pitch of many cultures in her voice. Their music has been described as "an atmospheric eclectic blending of traditional Sufi music, Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedonian and Balkan folk music, Farsi, Turkish, Arabic, Folk, Pop, Rock and Southern Gospel."

Check out their Myspace page for updated tour dates.
