Stronger, Smaller, Cheaper Solar

Sunrgi, a new solar startup, has developed a miniaturized, concentrated photovoltaic system that uses four times less photovoltaic material than other comparable solar energy systems.  Their system uses a lens to intensely focus sunlight onto tiny solar cells that can convert over a third of the sunlight's energy into electricity.  Sunrgi has designed their new system so that it can be manufactured efficiently on high-volume assembly lines.  They expect to start commercial production in a year.
