Spill Spurs Poetic Activism

On June 8th, World Ocean Day, poets across the US are taking action to raise consciousness about the Gulf Coast.
Join us in Long Beach, California as we read poems from the new Poets for Living Waters website, formed in response to the Gulf Coast disaster. There will also be an open mic, so bring your own poems about the Gulf spill or water in any of its varied forms and impacts on our lives. The Long Beach event will take place on Tuesday, June 8th from 7-9pm at Exhibit [A] on 555 Pine Ave in Long Beach, CA. Suggested donation is $5, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Find out more about the project or organize your own reading, visit poetsforlivingwaters.com.
