Rumi: The Way of Passion with Andrew Harvey
The 13th century Persian Sufi mystic Rumi is among the most beloved figures in history and very possibly still the most widely read poet on Earth. This evening Andrew Harvey will share his insights in Rumi’s path of divine love and explain its profound relevance to our lives in this period of transformation and crisis. He will delve into the roles of revelation, ecstasy, adoration, and suffering in authentic spiritual growth, and urge us to seek to emulate Rumi’s sacred passion and boundless energy as we now work for love and justice in a dangerous world. Detailed readings of Rumi’s most incandescendent poems will be given, and Sufi practices that help cultivate and nourish sacred passion will be shared.

Opening the Heart of Backbends w/ Sandhi Ferreira
Romance your soul and surrender your heart to the sky as you plant your feet into the earth! The practice of backbends are about moving into the future and letting go of fear of the unknown. If fear and hesitation remains as we attempt to open our hearts, pain results. (And often in the back!) But as we practice these asanas with heightened awareness of our connection to our strengths, the earth, and those we love, we overcome our fears and hesitations and become love itself.

Futureproff Redux featuring Karsh Kale and Jojo Mayer
For the 10th Anniversary of Joe’s Pub at the Public Theatre, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Karsh Kale teams up with “drum god” Jo Jo Mayer to bring back the legendary and consistently sold out late night series first held at Joe’s Pub in early 1999: “Futureproof”. This groundbreaking platform for live electronica, breakbeat, drum and bass redefined the boundaries of electronic music in what Mayer described as an “endeavor in reverse engineering.” Nearly ten years later with seven albums between them, a non-stop worldwide touring schedule and an endless list of musical collaborators, Kale and Mayer reunite with an all-star cast of special guests with what will undoubtedly be a fierce night of live musical improvisation.

=====Souldish Sponsored Event - October 24th=====
“HEAL” Invitation To Our One Year Anniversary!
Group Show. Mystic art is spirit expressed into matter. A mystic artist receives and transmits revelation, providing their art as a medium for messages from the divine matrix of Creation. (Alex Grey, http://www.cosm.org) Creating a work of art is like creating a new language, the language that communicates with the soul, the ability of transcending meaning without any boundaries. Art communicates what words cannot. The emotions of a human are dynamic. The spark within all of us can cause a wave pool of ideas that could lead to a better quality of life. The act of creating is a cathartic expression, a source of comfort, a way to expend and understand our trials and tribulations. Seed Gallery is bringing to the forefront art that has been used for healing by the very act of creating it in the new exhibition “HEAL.” Our opening reception is a celebration of the creativity and the resilience of the human spirit. The works of Fugen Bacaz, Gizem Bacaz, Allyson Green, Sarah Wellington, Blaq, Nemo, Satoshi Sakamoto, Amy Angeles, Ryan Hopkins, Ariana Mirabile, Mike Collins, Takun Williams, Salma Shamy, Bernardo Corman, Andrew Maishman, Takun Williams and Alfredo Manzo, Ralph Sanders, France Garrido, Steven Peabody, Steve Shorts, Caroline McAuliffe, Christina Fuentes, Doug Oneil, Philippe Garcesto, Allison May Dzielak, Jon Entwhistle, Analiese Desaw and other artists will further detail the process of healing through creation. Please RSVP.
