sound." - Beyond Race Magazine http://www.dynastyelectric.net/

Long Pond EcoTour with the Eco Tour
Explore Staten Island – the Undiscovered Borough of Parks
This week we visit Long Pond Park, a well-hidden ecological gem on Staten Island’s south shore, for a truly shamanic experience. We will locate and identify indigenous medicinal and edible plant species, discuss their traditional usages and preparation methods, and return to our intuitive roots, merging with the earth and its natural resources for health and healing. We will also be looking for the earliest spring wildflowers and plants sprouting. We may see turtles, snakes, and migratory spring birds and birds of prey. Bring your yeti detector! For more info & photos of the area, please visit: http://statenislandecotours.weebly.com/tour-details.html The tour will start from the Staten Island Railroad’s (SIRR) Richmond Valley Train Station on Amboy Rd at 11:00am. Look for the Green Bus – we will meet at the green building for La Cuisine catering, located on the side of the train station. Free parking is available. To view a map of the meeting area click here: http://bit.ly/hLFMSO ***Please be aware that if you are traveling by train, you must be in the first three cars to exit at Richmond Valley*** The train schedule is available here: http://www.mta.info/nyct/service/pdf/sircur.pdf The tour will begin at 11:15am and will last about three hours. It includes a picnic lunch of Couscous Citrus Salad with Mixed Vegetables and a Green Salad. There are shopping areas within walking distance to grab a beverage before the meeting time, should you have extra time.
For more information about the tour and what to bring please visit:
http://statenislandecotours.weebly.com/planning-for-a-tour.html
Please do everything within your abilities to arrive at tours a little early or on time and prepared. This will help to ensure that everyone will have the best possible experience.
