The Spiral Dance of Spiritual Growth: Navigating the Whitewater of Individuation and Belonging
Presenters:Terry Patten, Deborah Boyar, Ph.D., Rev. Michael Pergola, MA, MBA, JD. Express your authentic self without giving up a sense of belonging. The energy that drives spiritual development lies in the polarity between the two very human drives, to be ourselves and to be connected to others. Only by creating a harmony between our deep desire to belong (to another, a family or a larger community) with our ambition to actualize our individual creative talents can we move beyond the unsatisfying dilemma of isolation or claustrophobia. This course is designed to help free ourselves from the need to conform and to repress our creativity in order to belong in an intimate relationship, family, or work situation. To break free and express our unique talents. One of the most effective ways this freedom is to pursue an integral approach to psycho-spiritual development. This workshop will benefit you whatever role you play in society, whether you’re married, single, parent or child you can engage in the dynamic dance of independence and connection in a way that accelerates your soul’s evolution.

:: Reiki Level One :: ~ Initiating the Journey ~
Hello brothaz and sistazzz; Join me; and embark on this incredible journey of self healing and healing others ~…Whether you are an artist, dancer, yogi, massage therapist, shamansta, poet… Reiki has powerful benefits to offer everyone. Not many people know that Reiki originated in Ancient Tibet and was re-realized years later during Dr. Usui’s “vision quest” on a sacred mountain in Japan. He wanted to discover what the essence of healing was. I have come to know Reiki as an inherently shamanic (original-undogmatic connection to the universe and nature). In this level One Workshop we will explore a wide arrange of philosophies not offered in text book - cookie cutter - classes often offered through institutions…You can look forward to connecting with a small group of like minded friends…*Enhance your gifts*Foster a deeper connection to universal source energy*Foster a deeper connection with your soul purpose *Receive authentic tools for self mastery and healing work *Receive genuine healing in your own nervous system, release blockages and become more of a “channel” for intuition, creativity, grace and presence. *Discover non-denominational universal principles that apply to the sacred path of life. Workshop includes materials, hands on teachings, attunement and a gourmet lunch..Blessings!
(12:30 - 6 pm, $150)

Traveling the Path of Initiation
For millennia, and across numerous cultures, initiatory rites have held a place of great personal and cultural significance. Initiatory rites and rites of passage mark important transitions from one stage of a person’s inner or outer life to another and are characterized by profound experiences of dying to what is old and no longer needed, followed by rebirth into something new that serves the initiate and the community at large in healthier ways.
Sadly, initiatory rites are all but ignored in modern western culture. Initiation however, is archetypal — a natural human drive like the drives to eat, drink and procreate. We’re wired to go through transitional processes throughout our life. So, we find ourselves called to deeply transform ourselves. This call often takes the form of psychological or emotional distress, or unusual and uncharacteristic behaviors. It also takes the form of tragic losses in our lives — losses of the people we love, of our health, our employment, our possessions. Our modern society lacks the cultural institutions to support us through these very deep and often frightening processes. In fact, those who experience these transitional states are often diagnosed as neurotic or psychotic. In this talk, Kevin Sachs will facilitate a conversation about how we can provide support and containment for people as they travel through deep transitional states in ways that serve us — modern western men and women, boys and girls, who lack the tribal structures that provided such support and containment in the past. In this talk, Kevin will discuss spiritual and meditative practices, and how they invoke difficult and uncomfortable emotions, and how best to work with them. He’ll talk about working with powerful experiential methods and nonordinary states of consciousness and the need to carefully prepare for and integrate this work, and he’ll discuss ways of doing this. He’ll talk about the phenomenon known as Spiritual Emergency — the psycho-spiritual crisis that occurs when our initiatory processes and spiritual practices become destabilizing forces in our lives. He’ll describe the archetypal structure of initiations and how understanding the characteristics and typical course of an initiatory process can help us navigate through our processes of awakening. Kevin Sachs PhD has been on a spiritual path for 38 years. He has a professional practice in New York City where he offers ongoing personal and emotional support for people who do spiritual practice, support in preparing for and integrating deep, transformative inner experiences, and support for people undergoing psycho-spiritual crisis. Kevin is an advanced student of Holotropic Breathwork™ at Grof Transpersonal Training and offers Holotropic Breathwork™ with certified facilitators. He is also studying to certify as a Focusing Professional through the Focusing Institute with Ann Weiser Cornell and Jane Bell and offers guided Focusing sessions. He also studies shamanic counseling with Jan Edl Stein. He spent many years studying Siddha Yoga Meditation with Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. Kevin offers individual sessions in New York City or by phone. Energy Medicine Workshop: The Basics of Bioenergetics
Join Reiki Master and Evolver co-founder Jonathan Talat Phillips on an evening journey through the ancient art of energy healing. In this workshop, we will learn the five primary personality types and energetic defense structures that Bioenergetic therapy uses to help clients unleash their innate health, happiness, and personal power. The names for these character types have the provocative titles of “schizoid,” “oral,” “masochist,” “psychopath,” and “rigid.” According to Bioenergetics, we develop different levels of these protective systems in our childhood to prevent us from being overwhelmed by difficult experiences, but these defenses crystallize into our energetic field, trapping us in unhelpful behaviors and thought patterns, leading to longer term mental, emotional, and physical dis-ease. In this energy medicine workshop, we will learn the physical characteristics, psychological defenses, life tasks, and many gifts of each of the five personality types. Participants will discover their primary defense structures and learn energy healing modalities to release these old patterns and constrictive forces. We will also explore techniques for working with other people’s personality defenses, which can prove helpful in any social situation.
This workshop will provide a safe container for participants to go deeper into their own healing journey. Anyone can learn to heal with energy, and all levels are welcome, whether you are a beginner just starting out or an advanced practitioner honing your art. Join us as we learn, share, and open up new dimensions of the heart.
Jonathan Talat is a certified Chi and Bioenergetic healer from the Connecticut Healing Institute. He has a private practice in NYC and does Skype sessions. www.TalatHealing.com
