A Solar Powered India?

A version of the Indian government's energy plan has been leaked to a local paper, and its raising questions about the possibility of a switch to solar power. India is a major candidate for a solar powered energy plan because of the tropical climate of the country and that fact that the land sees 250-300 sunny days a year. India is attempting the most ambitious solar plan any country has proposed, with goals of conventional grid power in 2020 and a full necessary energy infrastructure in place by 2050. By putting this plan in place, India would significantly reduce emissions and lower their energy costs. The initial investment for a solar energy plan is very large, and may even be unachievable, but if the funds can be found, India's proposed energy plan could do a lot for both the country and the globe.
