Dream Drift

Kerstin zu Pan Interview with Reality Sandwich Creative Director, Michael Robinson:

1. What's your personal mantra?

Love whatever you are doing.

2. What does the role of Artist mean to you?

Artists fill the world with soul --I am happy to be a small part of that - it's peaceful.

3. What is the driving force behind your creativity?

Creating is as essential to me like eating or sleeping.  It always was like that - to be honest - I don´t know where its coming from...

4. What transformative experiences have influenced your life and how has that manifested in your work?
I would like to call transformative experiences "life".  I am shaped by everything I feel, by the people I meet,
by the music I listen to, by films I see - by everything. I don´t remember that a special incident caused something like an outbreak.  It's a constant development.

5. How long does it take you on average to complete a piece of work, and do you ever do several pieces simultaneously?

Yes, I usually work on several pieces simultaneously - not because I like to,
but because I have to. About an average time - that depends on the project.  That can be 2 days for a simple portrait or years - like for my series "Selfservice".

6. Why should people check out your work?

Hopefully because they like it...

7. How does your work affect Consciousness?
Well, my work is not political and I don´t intend to put morality in the stories. The world I create is surreal, so I guess that the person who looks at my work and gets into it , can drift away from reality as it is.
