Healers of the World

A group of Peruvian shamans led by Juan Osco met at Mount San Cristobal, Lima's highest point, on Sunday December 28th to offer protection and prosperity to world leaders for the upcoming new year.  Included on the list to receive healing were President-elect Barack Obama, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Peruvian Presdient Alan Garcia Perez, Bolivian President Evo Morales, and Cuban President Fidel Castro.  The ceremonial leader Juan Osco explained that "We are performing this ritual to lift everyone's spirit so that next year will go well.  Especially for the Obama family and especially that Peru be favored and work against the financial crisis."

The shamans have gathered at Mount San Cristobal for ten consecutive years, making use of incense, swords, human skulls, yellow paper, and yellow flowers to consecrate the ceremony.  In addition to healing and protection offered to world leaders, part of the ritual involved predicting the future.  Regarding Barack Obama's 2009, Osco stated that "There will be no threats against his life.  His family will be fine...What happened to Kennedy and other people won't happen to him.  It won't be that way."

World leaders were not the only ones to receive special attention, as the shamans dedicated part of the ceremony to the King of Pop.  Osco dispelled rumors that Michael Jackson is approaching death and envisioned a much stronger year for him.

All things considered, these Peruvian shamans have an uplifting outlook for 2009.  More details and predictions are available, as well as a video of the ritual.

I think we should all add

I think we should all add our blessing and prayer for world leaders as we embark on this new year. For a very insightful and enlightening read regarding prayer, I recommend Greg Braden's Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer: The Hidden Power of Beauty, Blessings, Wisdom, and Hurt. It is a great read with fascinating insights that examines the intersection of certain Native American traditional practices, western mysticism and eastern meditation.

Healers of the World Leaders

I'm not sure we should offer spiritual healing and cleansing for our world leaders.

Their response to such healing might be, "Oh, good. Now that I have been cleansed, I have room for more evil!"

We need to create our own re-emergent societies and not focus so much on people who truly do not care about us.

We are the ones we are looking for.

thank you for the letter, it made me feel better

It was something ridiculous that drew me to that unimposing tree on the path to the riverside. I had noticed long ago someone had spray painted 'CUT HERE' and a line in big letters. For months that tree stayed there as other forest fell, I smoked my pot and tripped my morning glories and thought of sitting there everytime time I passed it but was too caught up in the urgency of my meditations. Then there I was coming down and not in any kind of transcendental mood on a wednesday afternoon where some punk kids passed in their car and told me to fuck off. It was ironic that they would be so hostile, all I wanted was union with god and these, my people, who in my head were saints and mystics in deep coitus with the highest deepest truth wre running around saying 'fuck off'. I masturbate on walls but it got boring and moved out into the woodland areas left. I learned the uses of the plants, wearing a dress where I could and listening to Tracy Chapman and Bad Brains I was finding myself and my yoga was passing of days, counting the ways I love you unseen & waiting the next blunt. You see what I mean. I had visions and didn't see many people, when I did I put on those movie and tv roles because how could I say I was just waiting to die & be rid of this incarnation. So many orgasms later there was a tree I saw in a dream where a girl tricked me out of my clothes. Suddenly I woke up & realized it was that old tree by the path so I went there and sat, the sounds of hammers shrieking tools nearby construction nearby. I dropped my rasta bag and sat down. That trunk was strong and roots so deep. 'It is no fight' she said, 'but you are a good friend, watch the sunrise with me and the onion tops, I am Adawapayo' so I did and felt summer in winter. I heard the sad work songs of the architects and made up my own. well, the plants and bird helped too, we all being connected. I asked as a child 'Why do I seek protection, when the only protection I can have is from myself?" She said because thats love, kid. So sweet, so alone. Then I was lost in heavevn I saw all the oneness of the world all past, future was there, and I had nothing to add. The sun was going down and I ran home to tell my friend Manuel. He smiled & I told he and his girl watching a movie and they laughed then moved on. I went home, sweet, sweet music. The spirit stayed with me.
