Sex in the News

A gender-bending football player, a church devoted to orgasm, the Pope's ruling against sexual equality, jellyfish cures for impotence, and circumcision as Zambia's secret weapon to stop HIV are in this week's sex roundup.

Pope Benedict XVI is cast as Scrooge in this year’s Vatican Christmas story. Last week the Vatican opposed a French-sponsored U.N. proposal (one that has the backing of all 27 European Union countries) that calls for the end of the criminalization and punishment of citizens of the world as a result of their sexual orientation. The Vatican says it condemns gay marriage and that’s why the Pope is against the proposal. Problem is the proposal isn’t about marriage at all. (Time.com)
Another thing to file under abhorrent. A UK survey says that 1/4 of girls are forced to do something sexual that they don’t want to, and one in four 16-year-olds have been hit or hurt by someone they’ve dated. (Guardian.co.uk)

A Religous Comment about Same Sex Love
I been on this holy trip lately, I have been adding bible verses to all of recent comments. Anyway I am coming off my holy trip so this will be my last comment with bible verses. I found this sex quiz, it's called the bible sex quiz part 3, it is hosted by the Landover Baptist Church, it's a little radical from my prespective and some on the "answers" are misinterpretations of the bible, IMO, but check it out anyway! There's a lot of confusion about Old testament, Leviticus holy code (Leviticus 18:22) - 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. IMO humanity's fall from grace renders holy code with no obligation because faith alone is salvation, IMO of the New testament. FYI the bible does contain same sex love... 2 Samuel 1:26 and Ruth 1:16-17 ,the bible clearly values love between the same sex!
Comment on a religious comment about same sex love
So I read 2 Samuel 1:26 the love is between two men who are friends not sexual partners or lovers, who love instead like brothers. You don't have to have a sexual relationship with a person of the same sex to love them.
Then I also read Ruth 1:16-17, and the women are in the same family which is why they have such a deep love for each other. I hope people aren't getting this mixed up with gay love.
Faith alone is not salvation, it is the seed of salvation, that is the point of the mustard seed parable. Christ gives us the strength to make the right choices and decisions based on the instructions given to Moses in the Old Testament.
The reason men should not act this way is b/c it spreads diseases, not b/c God doesn't want them to love each other. That's why you shouldn't eat shellfish or animals that are scavengers. It's about keeping your body as pure as possible so the diseases of the flesh won't consume you. So you'll have a fuller life.
The majority of the population sees these tablets given to Moses as "Laws" when in fact the correct interpretation of the Hebrew term means "Instructions". Kind of crazy but it's like a manual to show us how to get to the finish line. We'll read it multiples ways until we finally get it fully and then we return to the Supernal Light.
