Transmutation
Presented by Winkel & Baltick. They never disappoint. 21+
The Story: It was the end of the Aughts. Winkel & Balktick meditated upon the last decade’s irrational exuberance and its booms, busts, bursts and bubbles. While the present situation seemed dire, they knew that with the right experiment, they could transform the debut of the Tens from a bleak lump of coal into a brilliant Golden Age. They returned to their laboratory in Brooklyn, determined to concoct the perfect panacea for ringing in the new decade. On Thursday, December 31st, 2009, prepare yourself for a grand demonstration of their alchemy. Join them as they transmute a dusty old warehouse into a clandestine celebration laboratory. Participate in the boldest experiments in dancing, DJs, interactive art installations, lounging, activities, games, elixirs, cuisine and merrymaking. The laboratory, The Philosopher’s Stone, is a chamber of the most majestic proportions. It sits perched upon the East River on the shores of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. It lies within the Industry City, a historic terminal complex that was once the largest integrated manufacturing, storage, shipping and transportation facility in the world. The Music: Elemental audio DJs exhibiting the finest in house, techno, breaks & dubstep…(in order of appearance) Reza fans the flames to get the dancefloor inferno started; friar tuck rings in the new year with a bass explosion; doug singer throws more bubbling beats into the cauldron; steve b conjures a bone-shaking dubstep travelogue; david last wobbles us into 2010’s first sunrise; delirious downtempo and ambient labscapes by… (In no particular order); autophage + prototype, creepy hugs, futureben & hobotrail. What to do if you want to attend: To receive the secret warehouse location in the days leading up to New Year’s Eve, please RSVP here or purchase advance tickets. In the Summer of 2009, Winkel & Balktick docked their pleasurecraft at a long-neglected pier just below Red Hook and found themselves in the midst of a sprawling industrial estate. They quickly realized that it was the perfect home for their grand bacchanals. The laboratory, The Philosopher’s Stone, is a chamber of the most majestic proportions. Its 26,000 square feet are divided into two vast workshops. It sits perched upon the East River on the shores of Sunset Park, Brooklyn within the Industry City complex. The N, R, D and M trains at 36th St are one avenue and two blocks from the building’s entrance. Industry City is a historic complex of massive warehouse and factory buildings, piers and endless rail lines that was once the largest industrial park in the world. Between 1892 and 1925, building after building was constructed until the terminal spanned more than 20 blocks, covering 200 acres and featuring 263,740 window panes. you must by tickets in advance

New Lost City a NYE Celebration (The Danger)
This New Years Eve, you are the champagne bottle. You are the explosion. New Years Eve marks the end of a difficult decade and this night is your escape.
This party comes in four sections spread across two buildings hidden in the heart of Brooklyn. A City of Grit: Dark + Sultry + Dramatic. Three warm floors of a former factory have been converted into a party paradise with hidden tea lounges, reckless rides, live art, cheap liquor and dark dance-floors. The music here is a throw-back to the classic loft-parties where live afro-beat mixes with stellar hip-hop and dj’s meet in the middle to keep the people moving. A City of Glamor: Gorgeous + Lush + Provocative. Intelligent techno to breaks to deep dark house join in this seven thousand square foot loft lined with dripping video projections and female chandeliers (yes, there will be fire). The outdoor terrace will be heated with a wood burning stove and constant conversation. A City of Ice: Hidden + Festive + Insolent. One hundred fifty cubic feet of false snow, Santas and seditious elves mix with The Modern Dance Awareness Society to create a winter wonderland that is equal parts absurd and beautiful. Expect spiked cider. A City of Fire: Captivating + Indulgent + Dangerous. This is where beauty meets vice. Stripper poles, piano lounges, aerial acts, casino games and brass bands blend into a tribute to the forgotten underbelly of New York City that has existed long before any of us know, and will continue beyond when any of us will be remembered. The Most Important Midnight:Two Thousand Ten will begin with: champagne bottles, fire acts, brass band explosions, dance-floor countdowns, kisses from strangers and, for the chosen few, a three course meal at the center of it all. This is the start of the best year of your life.
Feather masks will be rewarded with champagne and gifts. The growing list of performers include: Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew: If you haven’t heard this exploding hip-hop sensation, now is your moment. After packing the national stadium for performances in their home country of Sierra Leone, African superstars Bajah + the Dry Eye Crew are poised to conquer the global airwaves with their unique sound, which blends the swagger and funk of hip-hop, the passion and energy of dancehall, and the socially conscious vibe of reggae. The group has generated so much buzz in the hip-hop world that major stars including ?uestlove, the Roots, Talib Kweli, K’Naan, Res, and El-P have contributed their vocal and/or production talents to their upcoming release. Ocote Soul Sound System: WORLD PREMIERE: Saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist Martin Perna (Antibalas, Ocote Soul Sounds, TV on the Radio) takes his dreamy, psychedelic Latin funk, and remixes it live, with contributions from members of Antibalas and FELA on Broadway! on horns, vocals, and percussion. The Hungry March Band: Roaring out of Brooklyn comes the Hungry March Band, NYC’s legendardy street brass march band in the anarchic style that has become their trademark . Release your inner dancer and break out the fancy threads because this is the party - a blazing parade of flesh, blood, steel, brass and wood. This is the music of the people. Stumblebum Brass Band An incendiary force on the New York City music scene. Even though the band has deep respect and admiration for the art of both Louis Armstrong and aNirvana; the Stumblebums reject nostalgia in favor of riotous spontaneity. Raya Brass Band: The newest fiery Balkan band to come out of the village of Brooklyn. This mighty quintet of tuba, bass drum, accordion, trumpet and clarinet exuberantly delivers the swirling, dynamic music of northern Greece, the southern Balkans and the Romany people. In true village style, Raya Brass Band gives audiences a direct and unmediated earful of sonic energy from the middle of the dance floor. The Lady Circus: The next generation of circus has taken hold in this troupe of femmes fatales, who are taking circus arts to new heights. Born in the Brooklyn underground, Lady Circus have burst out of the gritty, grimy, glossy cocoon that birthed them to display a devastating combination of skill and spectacle for the new millennium. They infuse every performance with feral exuberance and stylish extravagance. For this night Lady circus is joined by the Fuct troop, Mikey Freedom Heart, Mickey Western and many more. Hungry For More: Ushering in the new decade with an appetite for the unexpected. Twelve guests will be invited to a feast during the New Year’s Danger party. Laurendarling is cooking up four courses of food, entertainment, intimacy, and surprise to bring you into 2010. Seating will be strictly limited, by invite only. By being a guest at dinner, the role as performer and audience will be blurred, as we are all performers in our own moments of grandeur. Musid by: Michna, Fred P. aka The Black Jazz Consortium, Dhundee, John Margulies, DJ Geko Jones, Zemi 17 spins his patented “space haus”, a blend of intelligent techno, euphoric warmth and indefinable magic to christen the years first sunrise. The Vintage DJ brings tracks from farther back than you can remember and the dance floor erupts in-kind. To hear the Vintage perform is to become an instant fan. Joro Boro plays Pure Gypsy Funk Madness. With Barney Iller the darkness of the dancefloor meets the brightness of Iller’s beats in a way that makes dancing irresistible. Sweedish Meatballs brings you A master of mixing un-expected selections with the best of the classics to bring a powerfully contagious jump-up and dance set. Plus fire and ice, art and laughter, love and nudity, prophetic visions and brief moments of the sublime. We’ve put everything and then some into this event. There is too much to list in one e-mail and to be honest, we want to keep the surprise. These nights will not last forever so celebrate while you can.

Secret Goddess Powers of India
Hosted by Meryl Vandana. Now is the era of Kali Yuga- The Time of
Iron and Mechanics. That makes It important to manifest the Mother
energy through every man and woman to receive the coming of the New Age
the Prosperous times. All the powerful Goddess forms are to Unify now.
The Conscioueness is working towards it. All we need to do is assist
that process through our awareness. In India where traditions of
Goddess worship have been unbroken for millennia, women are rarely
accorded the status that would seem to be disproportionate with the
reverence of the Divine Feminine. This was in the Vedic period. The
mention of the Goddess as a supreme being occured in the 5th century
AD, due to the popularity of Goddess worship amongst the Tantric
Practitioners. Now with the emerging evolved consciousness the West
needs to connect and empower the forms and their meanings connoting
their powers to bring in Harmony to the World and Balance the Ying Yang
of the Earth. Many Wise men are bringing this wisdom to light Using the
proximity of English Language. This needs to be received in the
Original Sound frequency of the Power (MANTRAS) with the right
understanding and the science from the Ancient Times. That which will
help the manifestation of Goddess power, for All pervading Prosperity.
Maa Durga the Goddess with ten Arms is the power to liberate the Demons
of its satanic qualities and empower all her Children with Harmony Love
and Wisdom. Many of the forms are ready to be revealed to the west
now. All women are born Goddesses. By undertaking a personal journey
to reclaim her true essence, every woman may fully realize the goddess
within. We must consciously strip off the layers of shame, guilt,
anger, and need, to find our naturally flowing, radiant stream of love,
compassion, creative power, bliss, and nurturing within. This may sound
to be a daunting task but it is possible

Other Forces
A Note from Odd Edges: I was lucky enough to catch Assember
Dilator, and I promised myself that if it ever played again, I’d invite
as many people as possible to see it. Luckily Dilator is playing
again, alongside some other pieces that look worth a damn. I hope we
can all go - it’s worth leaving the house and paying the money. The
assember dilator is a sonic meltdown of science fiction and human
desperation focused on the development of x-ray vision and its
consequences, obvious and unknown. Through hypnotic aural and visual
design 31 down is confronting issues of medical research, sources of
funding and the responsibility of science in the near future. Dealing
with themes of transcendence, control and greed, specific notions of
human interaction with science and nature are unraveled. This intense
work features a doctor and a nurse’s journey, as they become lab rats
in their own hallucinogenic medical trial. The assember dilator
premiered at p.S. 122 In the fall of 2009. Recent performance history
includes productions with: performance space 122 (the assember dilator,
fall 2009), bumbershoot (p.S. 122: Seattle edition, the scream contest,
fall 2009), prelude07 (cuny, i used to be curious [loud]), the
ontological-hysteric incubator (universal robots, summer 2007,
metronoma, summer 2006, that’s not how mahler died, summer 2005), the
new museum (wanderlost, spring 05), white box/performa 05 (rita,
katrina and stan, fall 2005), the kitchen (chase the bitch, 2004),
rhizome (wwwsomnambulator, 2005), free103point9, exit art (i am so
sorry), participant, eyebeam, the brick theater (that’s not how mahler
died, fall 2005), wfmu, catch (galapagos), spark festival of electronic
music and art (minneapolis, mn, that’s not how mahler died, 2006), the
bushwick starr (the assember dilator, work-in-progress, 2008, 2009).
Educational workshops have been given in beijing china (2007),
eindoven, ne and new york city. “A surreal, psychosexual journey of
ocular exploration plumbing the depths of obsession and the quest for
truth” -andy horwitz, culturebot “no one will be able to take their
blinking, squinting eyes off it…Yet it’s the constant jittering and
pulsing of sindelar and holsopple’s breathtaking, original atmospherics
that burn the assember dilator into your memory—by way of spots on your
retinas and ringing in your ears.” -Mitch montgomery, backstage. “They
were normal bourgeois theater, domestic triangle situations. That’s
why i called my theater “ontological-hysteric,” because the basic
syndrome controlling the structure was a classical, boulevard comedy
syndrome, which i took to be hysteric in its roots.”

Hosted by Liz Blake. Do you suffer from fatigue, frequent sinus infections, skin conditions, intestinal complaints, or recurrent yeast infections? Your symptoms could be caused by Candida overgrowth – a very common condition resulting from an imbalance of flora in the intestine. Varying degrees of imbalance can be caused by the standard American diet of refined sugars and simple carbs, a stressful lifestyle, broad spectrum antibiotics, and undiagnosed food allergies. Add in a little holiday cheer (read: stress, overeating, alcohol, sweets…) and you have a recipe for disaster! At the workshop we’ll be going over avoidance techniques and also dietary, herbal, and lifestyle changes you can make to get back on track. There are 10x more bacterial/fungal cells in your body than human cells – make sure they are the friendly kind. Workshop host Liz Blake is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, AADP (certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners). She has also studied nutrition at NYU, as an important element of her study of holistic health.

The Road To 2012 with Stephen Popiotek
Welcome To Stephen Popiotek’s Part 3 Lecture On 2012. These series of workshops have a special focus on the importance of healing the Underworld so we can have smooth passage into the Galactic Upperworld. This means coming to terms with topics that reside in the shadow side of the Collective Unconscious which have challenged the collective heart from opening and obtaining mastery in realms of Love & Light. In this 3rd Event, there will be an overview on freeing Gaia from tumultuous inflences that have sought to bind her various Vortexes/Sacred sites as part of ongoing Astral Grid Wars and Stargate manipulations. The paradigm Remedy to be presented will emphasize the Importance of integrating the Love Ray to ensure a smooth transition and healing of timelines as we journey to 2012. This will include the introduction of the concept of a StarHeart as a practical template to assist in this process, and a 30 minute channneled guided meditation to access these Energies as a preparation for the Major Solar Eclipse happening a week later. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to lecture time in order to get a good seat! We will be starting promptly so you won’t want to miss any important information. Thank you. Blessings from Meryl & Stephen!

Think about it: A million Americans contributing to a grassroots,

investing as we’ve come to know it? No. Is it achievable? Yes.
