Safety and Power

These two things - are they the guiding hands of the psyche? Are they the fundamental building blocks of the great mess we see in the world today? We seek security and through various means, spin webs of ideals, of actions, of mentalities, whether they be manipulation or not. We seek the power of stability, security, and act it out in various ways. Do we accept it? Or do we repress it, only to have it seem to return to us as an 'other', and thus the great shadow that is re-emerging in the modern world, tearing itself apart? What are some methods to reclaim the shadow, aside from going through physical manifestation of it?

hmm...?

could these two desires grow from a one general feeling of lacking? does it seem as though we are reaching for an experience we've all had - that we desperately wish to reaccess, and that our metaphors are failing to give us an accurate mapping to their ephemeral Source? the vehicles we find ourselves in to ascend our (meaning-idenity-relation tree) seem to be in disrepair. they have become like the complex mechanisms we've infinitized around us: they have countless separate compartments, and frozen, not growing, dead. might our perspective shift if there was agreement in examining the organismal reality of our species' way(s) of knowing? an exchange: a broken typewriter gets you a handfull of sequoia seeds. the world seems...in danger. our model making capacity appears to serve convenience (by mimicking value: necessity, utility) but is observably only taking up vital cognitive terrain and rapaciously "defending" it. we're so blessed: we're just trapped in a vastly overgrown folly growing from an age of fumbling with our blessings. local organismal sentience is not a baby anymore though, but it can be seen that life will tend to return to an infant-like state shortly before perishing. let's try to remember for good ol' times sake...

the site seems to have been summed up in a variety of different ways by different people. Constant change and discussion of that change does not need to be a downer. Proffering opinions and perspectives leaves us stuck in culture glue. Community creating must be one of humanities oldest and boldest practices but any kind of discussion of an OBJECTive seems to spiral, very quickly out of control. Pay attention to the world and share your opinions on it. Cool. Okay. Then what? Bring attention to local events and their impact in your physical neighborhood. Sweet, looking into it. Then what? ahhhhhh.... We figure out the 'then what'. Personally I would like to be-able to create forum topics. And that's about as dark and dystopian as I get. : p
