Roots of Spiritual Hip-Hop

Prop Anon’s Infinity Blessings panel (including RS Co-founder Daniel Pinchbeck) sheds light on the past, present and future situation of the suppressed conscious hip-hop community and culture. Check out this video from the panel:

In this Infinity Blessings segment, King Downing speaks on the inner workings of the hip-hop segment of the music industry. Downing goes on to speak about the glaring double-standard between street gangs and corporate “gangs”, conscious/ independent hip-hop music vs. corporate hip-hop, and the record label’s attempts to keep the community’s consciousness imprisoned by allowing “false economic pressures and opportunities [to] create one form of hip-hop over another.”

I attended this panel and I

I attended this panel and I wish there was a continuing series of like events. All the speakers brought their own elements in explaining what hip-hop is and the consciousness surrounding it, but what the entire panel did was open up a dialogue about the underlying facets that perpetuate many misconceptions about races and class.

In listening to what each speaker had to contribute the overall message of positivity, compassion, and equality left me inspired.

Kudos to everyone on the panel and to Prop Anon for bringing this much needed conversation to the surface.

Thanks SA....dope name by the way.

I'm with you. I'm all about more events like this one. We'll make it happen. Thanks for the positive words.

What I liked most about the event was the amount of "audience" participation that occurred during the Q&A period. Amazing ish.

Check out the rest of the panel on youtube.

There's 21 parts, so lots to see.

PEACE!
