If you are a web guru, Reality Sandwich needs you! The site is taking off, and we have more work and opportunities than we know what to do with.

We're looking for someone who can help us with all things Web. We use Drupal, the PHP/MySQL content management system. We need an experienced Web person to help with the day-to-day maintenance, configuration, tweaking and potentially programming of the site – people who can do Web administration and have experience with Web-based content management systems. We'd love it if you have web development skills like CSS/xHTML, PHP, MySQL and Drupal. You will be supported by the CivicActions team that built the website – so this is a good opportunity to learn from Drupal experts.

Go to the Contact page, choose "Web Guru" from the Category list, tell us a little about yourself, and hit send.

Right now we're offering a great volunteer experience – warm fuzzy feelings are guaranteed! You'll work with the RS editorial team, and coders at the top of their game... and you'll be able to say "I remember Reality Sandwich when...."

technotelepathy

Just when things start to get a little dreary and confined something good rolls in. I ordered one of Mr. Targ's books. My tech skills are lacking but I hope to improve them. Wish I had more to offer. Below is another reply from another time from Mr. Daniel P.

Thanks Daniel

The telepathy is kicking in, I think, although it happens, first, as a subtler process than we may have expected. To paraphrase the Rolling Stones, you may not get what you want, but you get what you need.

Two Boots, pizza, lightning, rain, planes, and trains

Daniel, I don't know if you read these things or not. You are a busy guy. My web proficiency is not what it should be. I'm probably using this element of your forum incorrectly. Don't know any other way to say hey. I reviewed the list serv members that were on the invite you sent out for the get together at Two Boots on Weds. 7/27. The idea of being on a short list with Russell Targ kind of went to my head. So on Wednesday afternoon I booked a one way flight to NYC from Raleigh/Durham (totally out of character for a guy like me). And not cheap either. Thought I'd go to the pizza party, say howdy, and maybe get a minute with you to submit some music and writing samples for your review. My plan was to take a train back to Raleigh and read a little. Packed way too much. Actually got the ticket, and made the flight on time. The plane was late leaving RDU, but got to New York by eight or so. Here's the deal. Just as the plane started to land I saw a flicker of lightning. I even made a comment out loud like "Alright!" I knew it was going to be a big night. I'd done something a little spontaneous and was going to be rewarded by the thunder gods for my effort. You only have to take one look at my last name to know the affinity (and reverence) that I feel for those powers. OK, here is what happened. At almost the moment the plane came to a stop, all hell broke loose. Big Lightning! So much that the guys (and gals) who do the things with flashlights and help link the plane up to the terminal, they shut it down. Wouldn't go outside. A union thing I'm sure. Scaredy Catz! The whole airport was backed up. Planes on the ground, parked, on the runways, as far as you could see. We sat inside the plane, within sight of the terminal, for two hours. When it calmed down a little they finally wheeled out a staircase, put us on a bus and hauled the whole bunch, passengers and crew, to a terminal entrance (a plane load of real unhappy campers that was). I got a cab and made it to Two Boots, but you were GONE. The folks in the movie store next door(a Two Boots affiliate) said they thought your party had split when the heavy rain let up. The Pakistani guy running the counter at Two Boots Pizza said something like "What is this?" when I asked about the 'Reality Sandwich' party. I don't think that he's read BOTH. I had a slice of pizza, 2 bottles of Corona, and a cookie. I watched the rain come down and thought maybe you lived in the neighborhood and would chance by. Didn't happen of course. Took another cab to Penn Station. Tried to get a spot on 'The Carolinian' back to Raleigh. No way. Everything sold out. I did not even begin to think about trying to rent a car. I later learned there was not one to be had anywhere in the city. Whole town had shut down. Guess there was a partial black out or something earlier in the day in addition to the big storm that evening. I was able to get a seat on a train to DC. From there I got on the Carolinian and made it back to Raleigh. That is quite a train ride. You made that trip when you came down this way last year I know. I kept telling myself that this would be a nice day in Rwanda. That helped keep the old attitude in check. I've been trying to finish Gravity's Rainbow and the ride allowed me to make some good progress. Got back in one piece. I had enough of a layover in DC to take a short walk on the Mall. Cops on every corner. We truly do live in a police state now. Anyway, if you've read this far, thanks, and hello. I'm including the last comment I made on this site where I cut a response from a tribe site email I got from you last year. Any insight into what it is, or was, that I need(ed) (other than to get out of the house every once in awhile, of course)?........
