Quantum Hives

honeybees3.jpg

Barbara Shipman, a mathematician at the University of Rochester, expands upon the research of physicist Karl Von Frisch, hypothesizing that bees have an advanced understanding of quantum space and mathematics.

Karl Von Frisch has proven that honey bees communicate the location of food through specific dances, or “waggles,” that are geometrically proportional to variables such as the distance between the hive and food.

Von Frisch concludes: “You have to wonder what makes the dance happen. Bees don’t have enough intelligence to know what they’re doing. How do they know the dance in the first place? Calling it instinct or some other word just substitutes one mystery for another.”

While researching this mystery, Shipman discovered a direct correlation between the geometry of higher-dimension “manifolds” and the honey bees’ dance, suggesting a deeper, more quantum connection than previously observed.

She continues to suggest that the insect’s bodies have evolved to increase sensitivity between quantum fields, that they’re actually able to physically communicate with the properties of quarks in a way that is beyond our current understanding of physics.

Bee Intelligent

Where is the fine line between instinct and intelligence ?

That mankind is finally waking up to "Quantum understanding after centuries in the dark ages ... well it is certainly embarrassing that other species did not experience such a" fall from grace" and are naturally adept at Quantum mechanics.

Humans need larger brains only to balance out their lack of other cosmic skills.

Other species seem to think less ... but act way more efficiently .. alone or in the group.

Thank you for these links,

Thank you for these links, that's a great counterpoint. However, I think it's important to remember that a hypothesis like Shipman's is not about getting down to the facts (quantum theory is based in the "imaginary," anyway), but to understand that there are relationships out there beyond the current level of "accepted science."

"You have tasted death now," said the Old Man. "Is it good?"

"It is good," Mossy replied. "It is better than life."

"No... only more life."

I agree completely.

Studying bee pheromones led me to study human pheromones and apply what I'd learned (from a student of Von Frisch at Notre Dame).  Human knowledge is finite.  There is a count for every word uttered by human and sub-human tongues.  Human ignorance, on the other hand, is eternally infinite.

Bees are more intelligent

Bees are more intelligent than they seem. Even their hives are in perfect geometry. Regards, Ewok - I work as a chicago graphic designer and I love my job :)

Quantum is imaginary to be

Quantum is imaginary to be sure Stephen. Thanks for responding. Although in 646-671science "imaginary" means the square root of negative one" which is just the 4th dimension as time -- not at all "imaginary" or outside classical physics. Unless you follow G. Nimtz who argues that indeed "virtual photons" due violate special relativity, thereby enabling superliminal communication. I'm more for the logical inference interpretation of quantum mechanics -- that it points to a realm of pure consciousness, albeit not demonstrated in repeatable empirical constructs. This 70-433is the argument of the author of "Veiled Reality" -- recipient of the 2009 Templeton Award, B. E'spargnat. Or something French like that.

Bees are just truly amazing

Bees are just truly amazing they have their own way which is very unique to communicate each other. Bee’s are tiny little math nerds with amazing time keeping abilities and ability to calculate distances without any discernible measuring device… NERDS!!!!
