For those of you wondering why you haven’t been invited to EvolverNYC December’s Reskilling event, please be advised, it has Evolved.
EvolverNYC and OWS Sustainability Working Group have combined forces to produce the OWS Holiday Bazaar AND Skill Share. If you have participated in “The Great Reskilling” events hosted by Cami Arrow, you know just how fun, informative and relevant these events are.
A packed schedule of workshops, skill shares and speakers are in place coupled with a ‘few’ additions. Live screen printing, body work by donation, tarot card reading by donation, a live demonstration of one of the bike charging stations that powered Zuccotti Park, a clothing swap, an alternative economy think tank and much more. See the list below for details.
Speakers include Colin Beavan and Patrick Robbins. Colin Beavan from the documentary film “No Impact Man” will be hosting a conversation about living off the grid in NYC and Patrick Robbins will host a presentation on climate science.
There will be a live barter market happening simultaneously with the workshops all day. People are encouraged to bring any item, art, service or skill to barter with. Bring any gently used articles of clothing to trade for the clothing swap.
There will be live musical performances and dinner provided compliments of the OWS Kitchen.
This truly unique event kicks off on Sunday, December 18th, at 1pm and is happening till 9. It will be held in Brooklyn, at City Life Wellness Center on 75 Frost St, 4 blocks from the Lorimer Stop on the L.
