Power, Control and LSD
The summer of love is a faded memory for those around to experience it over 40 years ago. The events that served as the foundation for much of that time's happenings still receive present day attention. The instant popularity and availability of Lysergic Acid Dythelidamide is credited with the shifting of a generation's consciousness and ushering in that "far-out" summer. Documentary Filmmaker Aron Ranen takes viewers on a groovy trip to address curious notions regarding the government's decision to criminalize LSD in 1966. Ranen's persistence in tracking down key figures such as Ram Dass and Michael Rossman gives viewers firsthand accounts of the days when protests were waged for peace, love, and harmony.
