OWS Sustainability hosts the first Eco Summit on Saturday, January 28th in which the environmental groups operating within the movement are gathering to exchange ideas and present all current projects. In an effort to recreate the essence of the Zuccotti Park Occupation, mobile, daytime occupations, called Occupy Town Square, will be held in parks and other public spaces, indoor and outdoor, around New York City. There will be info tables, teach-ins, workshops, art, political discussions and most importantly community. The first of the Occupy Town Square mobile occupations in NYC is scheduled for Sunday, January 29th from 12pm-5 in Washington Square Park. Renowned NYC Permaculture Scholar, Andrew Faust, endorses Occupy Wall Street and has attracted many fans through his various speaking engagements to the OWS community on the principles of Permaculture as a realistic way to design our way out of the current economic conditions and create a new economy that serves the 3 core values that Permaculture embodies; care of the people, care of the earth and the sharing of surplus. His Talks are always fascinating and on point. The outer must feedback with the inner, I say, and the inner must be free to see the great that has the power to bring the big change into the outer as a consciousness gain.
