Occupy This Week

On Tuesday evening, January 10th, two days after the Occupy Movement won its court case and the NYCLU demanded that they be taken down, the barricades around Zuccotti Park were removed for the first time since the November 15th raid on the Occupation.  Unfortunately, this didn't result in a full reoccupation of the park, since police were forbidding anyone with large bags, tents or food supplies to enter.  Even lying down was prohibited.  Nevertheless, the park is once again a gathering spot for occupiers where they can hold General Assemblies, play chess and--for now--celebrate that the barricades are gone.

The Occupy Curveball Team is asking folks to help with the immediate start of an “Idea and Culture Fair” in Liberty Square from noon-2pm each day, on an ongoing basis.  Their vision is to inspire the world by occupying the park each day with political theater, art, games, sign making and many other activities. They're calling out for help and participation from anyone who would like to host a workshop/teach in, perform, make art, play music, play games etc. All ideas are welcome!
