2012 Time for Change Presents: Joe Rogan

In this interview, Joe Rogan discusses his experiences with DMT and sensory deprivation flotation tanks, while sharing thoughts about 2012 and predictions for the near future. This is the first in a series called "2012: Time for Change Presents", which will feature celebrities and luminaries talking about conscious evolution and practical solutions.

Here is more about the film, 2012 Time for Change, which premiere this week in San Francisco at the Lumiere-Landmark: "2012: Time for Change" projects a radical alternative to apocalyptic doom and gloom. Directed by Emmy Award nominee Joao Amorim, the film follows journalist Daniel Pinchbeck, author of the bestselling 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, on a quest for a new paradigm that integrates the archaic wisdom of tribal cultures with the scientific method. As conscious agents of evolution, we can redesign post-industrial society on ecological principles to make a world that works for all. Rather than breakdown and barbarism, 2012 will herald the birth of a regenerative planetary culture, where collaboration replaces competition, where exploration of psyche and spirit becomes the new cutting edge, replacing the sterile materialism that has pushed our world to the brink.

joe rogan is fuckin awesome.im a big fan now.i empathize with his views....-i cant wait to die!

Wow!

I love Joe's down to earth attitude. He really brings it home for the average American. Wish I lived on the West Coast sometimes - Have fun at the premiers!

hahaha

interview made me laugh. Joe Rogan seems like a really good dude

two of my favorite people!

I loved just seeing these two guys together. Two different kinds of shaman archetype having a rag chewwing session. Love it. I saw the 20min video and wonder if it's part of a much longer video. I would like to hear more from Daniel and hear Joe respond to what he hears. I appreciate joe's passion very much and I love hearing daniel when he goes off into something really interesting.

I'd never heard of Joe Rogan

I'd never heard of Joe Rogan until I heard the radio interview   where he discussed his DMT experience on youtube some time ago. I really enjoyed this interview and would like to see more of these.

Joe is a genius

I've been following Joe for several years now. I have seen his comedy live and he is a fantastic comedian. He is one of the special people who can surf the fine line between the mainstream and the underground without being labeled as a lunatic. Its amazing to me that he can at the same time be a host for a culturally vacant show like Fear Factor (which he is no longer) and be a serious and vocal psychonaut. He is extremely honest in all material I've seen of his. He has a blog (joerogan.net) where he shares some quite personal and insightful thoughts. He is reminiscent of some of the greats like Bill Hicks, George Carlin and Richard Pryor. Although he can be quite crude, his honesty and intellect shine through when he speaks. I love Joe!

Any clues as to what will be available in the shop when it's open? :)

Joe Rogan!

Yes! I have always been a big fan of Joe Rogan ever since I saw him discuss the isolation tanks. He is also a really great comedian. Extremely cool dude...would love to chill with him, smoke a blunt, and discuss the wonders of life. http://www.theemotionmachine.com

Psychedelic!

Steven I'm with you man.. if you ever find yourself about to spark a spliff with Joe, call me up!

Joe represents the counterculture quite well in my opinion. With guys like him around and with places like Reality Sandwich taking flight, we won't be kept quiet for much longer. Fight the good fight, and smoke weed!

Nerfing the world

cool dude

i like joe a lot. hes down to earth and doesn't carry that heavy celebrity mentality.

WTF

Fear Factor was demonic. Dude doesn't get a pass just because he's had a nice DMT experience

I didn't like the interview,

I didn't like the interview, that guy (Joe Rogan) lots of bad mouthing!!! he sounds like a pissed 15 year old... and although I agree with some of his points he lost me with all the cursing

I loved the interview

DMT was way out on the periphery for me. Now I'm a fan without having tried it. Joe Rogan is a very natural guy. (Sergio, you gotta listen to what he's saying, not HOW he's saying it.) I disagree with his point about ants. They are very aware; watch them scurry in the face of danger (i.e. you), even before you try to harm them. They are god's way of teaching you to keep the kitchen counter clean. Plants and rocks are sentient too. God sees the world through your eyes; are you showing her a good time?

I listened but like I said

I listened but like I said the cursing was too distracting and I'm not saying a speak like the angels but... ok guy tone it down little bit... I just don't see how his whole DMT experience can be taken seriously as a sacred and mystic experience if he makes it sound like he is just getting shit face

Man Show? Seriously?!?

Ok, I'm new here...but I've got to ask...isn't this the guy from the "Man Show"? One can only hope his psychedelic experiences will lead him away from the infantile and dangerous objectification of women. I have been checking out this site with a serious desire to participate in Evolver culture and its sure a bummer to find a person associated with very negative, retrogressive values featured here. Some may cry feminazi, but come on, can a finer more evolved future have room for the negation of the basic humanity of 51% of humans? Oi!

Celebrities

It is great to have interviews with celebrities about topics like this. More people will be open to the information since it is coming from someone they already have an admiration for. Whenever I try talking about this kind of stuff, most people stop listening....but hearing it from someone in the public eye makes people think....especially since they know how easily their reputation can be ruined for things they say. Joe Rogan explains everything in cool, straightforward manner that everybody can relate or at least listen to, whether they have had similar experiences or not. I think this is what we need for spreading the word about psychedelic experiences for a positive shift in our existence.

ants

And yeah, I don't think ants was a very good example, but he had to think of something on the spot, so......Anyway I agreed with the point he was trying to make...how we can be unaware of so much that is just beyond our perception. As for the swearing, I really don't think it was that mother fucking bad :) Really...when talking about those experiences, it brings up a lot of emotion, and there just aren't words to describe it...and when people are trying to make strong points, that is just a common word to use. I mean, these are other dimensions we're talking about! Crazy experiences that are absolutely life changing! It takes sharp words try and describe something like that.

Floating

I have a float tank in my house so it's funny to hear Joe talk about his experiences. He's pretty on when he's talking about the far-out experience of floating. There are times when you know you are not who think you are, on many different levels. There are also times when "life is pulled from under you" like a rug, -- a sensation which causes most people to pop themselves out of that particular state. Sometimes, you tingle with energy and at times I get goosebumps. All of these things happen, especially if you've floated more than one or two times. The conversation didn't go into the big (other) reasons why floatation tanks are useful, so I'd like to add a few things. The light feeling of joy and peacefulness that follows you after one tank session helps many people in many different ways. It helps people with sports performance, sports training recovery, anxiety, addictions, jet lag, coordination, the list goes on. Normally a few tank sessions are just so deeply educational for the user of the tank, that they change their lives for the better. The light feeling of peacefulness is appealing to me. This is the part of the experience you can take from the tank to the rest of your day. I bet the clarity Joe has during his very well-done comedy acts is helped by floating, just like Carl Lewis' triple jump was aided by floating. If you've never floated in a tank before and you went into one (not taking any sort of substance beforehand) I'd bet you would not have a geometric trip out, but would instead do a lot of thinking, take maybe a short mediatative nap, and feel refreshed when you get out. The "You're Gone" feeling definetly is part of it, but without extra help you're not going to get there until you've floated a few times -- which is something I highly recommend.
