Reality Sandwich is looking for volunteer editors to work on multiple (r)evolutionary video projects. This is a call to all those compelled to take things to the next level and share your skills with the Evolver Social Movement (E+SM).  This position requires hands-on skills in all aspects of editing high definition videos for use on web and digital channels.  You must have your own editing equipment.  This is an unpaid position but you will be credited for your work on the videos themselves.  Our hope is that by helping us create flourishing, provocative multimedia content on RS and eventually be able to compensate you monetarily.  In the meantime, you'll be able to meet and network with interesting people and have your work seen by our ever-growing network of over 115,000 regular readers a month.

We are also able to give intern credits to students.

Tasks include editing down a rough cut and some other technical work such as converting video files, as well as placing in title cards and "bumper" clips at the beginning and end of the videos.

Your work schedule is flexible, but we need a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week through the spring and summer.

We're also looking for video shooters for transformative events in NY, LA, and SF.

Please send resumes and URL's of online clips to jennifer (at) evolver (dot) net.

Hey, this is gruvie

Why not offer RS backstage membership as an incentive? Ah mean, siriusly. As it is, I spose it'd be good experience, and the intern credit don't hurt, but... Don't be cheapskates, cmon! I'm interested to see what comes out of this, though.

What we're giving in return...

Hi Bark,

I modified the language in the post a little as I think you had a point--it sounded like we're being cheapskates, which is not our intention!  The truth is, we hope to eventually pay our video editors.  We simply don't have the money to do that now.  What we're looking for are people who those who feel compelled to come and help us get to that level and build this with us--someone who gets just how important and influential this community is and wants to be a part of helping it to make it through this pivotal time in its development.

Peace,

DONATING TIME, EFFORT

I appreciate the fact that you wish to "spread the word" and certainly a video is probably the best way, both visually and vocally. Editing equipment is exspensive and must be cared for properly and used correctly. Losing great amounts of material due to electronic problems and storage errors is not uncommon. Editing and organizing material, music, titles, scripts, down loading, etc., is demanding, time consuming, and...well...you get my messge. Hopefully there are professional, experienced, dependable folks who can support your ideas and interests, gratis.... that said, people - me - usually have their own projects they spend spare time and effort on. Well trained and professional editors usually can't afford to work for nothing but there are hopefully some dedicated professionals that will assist your most noble and needed site. . Perhaps Reality Sandwich as an organization could apply for grants that would include payment for professional video talent. Good luck and I sincerely hope something develops to asist your important message and movement....well done videos are always an asset to any movement!
