Evolver Atlanta Presents: The Bike Trip

Evolver Atlanta presents: The Bike Trip, "A Comedic Monologue About Peddling Chemical Truths", created and performed by Martin Dockery and described as follows:

"It was the height of WWII, in the very heart of Europe, when a Swiss pharmacologist found himself struggling through a most bizarre bicycle ride – one that would unexpectedly introduce the world to LSD and alter the way millions of people perceive the nature of consciousness.

65 years later, in a quest to understand why acid so enthralls and terrifies, I set out to explore the psychedelic scenes of San Francisco and India, before ending up in Switzerland, where I hoped to tap into that very first acid trip by, amongst other things, renting a bike.

Alternately hilarious and harrowing, from Hofmann's first experience to my own desperate encounter in a dark field in Switzerland, the story of LSD is, ultimately, one of trying to make a connection between ourselves and our world."
