Crazy Like "Fox"

GOPlp.jpg

Brief, but to the point, the latest YouTube video from Agit-Pop Communications starts off displaying flashes of happy Republicans with text that says "This is your base."  The clip then jolts to reveal angry, seething mobs railing against universal healthcare. "This is your base on Crazy."  We are then shown protest signs and banners that read “Obama Care is Elderly Genocide” and “Obama’s Plan: White Slavery.” Images of Obama sporting Hitler’s classic short stache hit the screen right before you see a video of Rush Limbaugh touting, “The Obama Healthcare logo is damn close to a Nazi swastika logo.”

The instigators at Agit-Pop ask you to "Be part of the solution, not the problem" and "expose and defeat the Crazies" by sending Twitter images, video, and stories to #GOP crazy.

Problematic

I don't think the video helps the situation at all. It just says, "look at the these crazy people." It doesn't explain anything. I don't have the answers, but alternet is doing a good job of getting under the hood of the radical right. We should pay close attention-- these are classic tactics of fascists: use violence to intimidate and scare people. Ridicule will make the situation worse, I feel, but I hope we can generate some love, compassion and nonviolence in our response. And some tactics as well.
