Global Revolution Underway

blindjustice1.jpg

Saturday's global rally in over 600 towns and cities worldwide was a momentous event. A month ago, the Occupy Wall Street movement managed to pierce the veil of the matrix. The puncture has now become an unsealable rip in the fabric of Empire. Gas is escaping rapidly from the balloon.

We are seeing the inception of a global insurrection that will not end until the dominant system is overthrown and replaced through a planetary metamorphosis. The mainstream media continues to play down the Occupy phenomenon, critiquing its lack of specific demands. Specific demands are pointless, because the entire political, social, and economic system in which we exist has rotted out from the inside. Demands would suggest that there is a way to reform the present system, but no reformist initiative is possible.

As someone who wrote about the prophecies of indigenous cultures such as the Maya and the Hopi, I believe the time we are in is one of constantly accelerating transformation. The process we are undergoing as a collective organism leads to an evolutionary leap of consciousness on a species level. This mutation happens within the next few years -- it is already happening now.

As part of this process, we will develop an integral worldview, a holistic perspective that realizes the value of indigenous and traditional knowledge systems without rejecting the scientific and technical developments of modern times. The Occupy movement has erupted as a planetary outcry against economic and social injustice. The consciousness movement has to discover its voice as a part of this movement. The revolution will be spiritual in essence -- or it is doomed to repeat the horrific mistakes of the past, and fail.

As of yet, we lack the language to express the new world that supersedes the old one, even though we feel it in our hearts. The new paradigm that is opening before us demands that we take care of the human family as a whole, redistributing wealth and resources equitably. At the same time, we must cease our destructive assault on the planetary ecology, and engage in a deep practice of environmental restoration. Since the current economic system makes this impossible, we must develop, design, and distribute a new system for exchanging value. The technical genius of humanity needs to be redirected from creating state-of-the-art video games and stock trading programs to strengthening natural resilience, building self-sufficient local communities that grow their own food, and launching social technologies that support collaborative decision-making and nonviolent communication.

The path before us requires voluntary renunciation and voluntary simplicity to reduce our burden on the earth. Therefore, the old paradigm that sees accumulation of wealth and immediate material satisfaction as the goal needs to be rejected collectively. We are going to step into a new realization of our purpose -- of the meaning of human life, in itself. We are going to remember, and relearn, what every ancient civilization and traditional culture tells us: that our lives have a spiritual meaning, above all. Existence in this world is an initiatory process to prepare us for the transition to other conditions of being, other worlds or bardo realms beyond this one.

The duality of spirit and matter also needs to be overcome. Indigenous people do not recognize this dualism -- they do not imagine spirit to be above or outside of this realm, but within it. Instead of a sky religion, their spiritual practices are rooted in sensuous connectivity with the earth. In a sense, indigenous cultures are much more truly materialist than our society, as they see the essential value of the natural world as an expression of the Creator, and do not try to impose abstract systems on to it.

Our civilization has been ruled by a mindset that sees life as a means rather than an end. In the past, guilt and postponement were inscribed in a religious creed that put off redemption to some distant future. Recently, science replaced religion with a fundamentalist vision of technological progress, leading to a time when humans merge with silicon or create artificial intelligences that succeed us. This is also a delusion that keeps us alienated from the living present.

We don't know what it will be like to live in a society where life is realized as the ends in itself -- where we seek to benefit the collective by nurturing and supporting each individual. We can only anticipate that it will be wonderful to find out.

The consciousness movement has the sacred task of integrating our understanding of spirit and Psyche into the rapidly unfolding movement for planetary justice and social regeneration. This global movement is part of an initiatory process for humanity as a whole that will bring about a transformation of both the individual and collective ego-structure. The goal is not the destruction of the ego but the attainment of an ego-free state -- liberation from the tyrannical demands of the ego, which can never be satiated. Similarly, we don't want to see the smashing of current institutions, but their alchemical transmutation, so they support our human community and safeguard the resources of the natural world. Humanity, as a whole, is rapidly losing our appetite for violence and destruction. We are increasingly sick of the negative patterns of the past, and ready to overcome the inertia.

As part of this process, it would be great to refine messages that express the integrative state of consciousness in social and political terms, and use the viral power of social media to disseminate them. Among the literature being distributed at rallies and occupation zones, a set of documents could explain the value of non-ordinary states of consciousness, initiatory experience, and shamanic practices. It would also be great if holistic healers, yoga instructors, practitioners of a vast array of alternative spiritual technologies, visit the Occupy encampments and offer their services, free of charge, along with other forms of advice and instruction. I am sure this is already happening to some degree - it is increasingly a quality of this time that events proceed faster than my ability to articulate or respond to them. While that is humbling for a writer, it is beautifully satisfying for anyone who has awaited and anticipated, so impatiently and for so long, the metamorphosis that is now underway.

the Occupy Movement

Great article Daniel! I can barely contain my joy that this is finally happening. I have renewed hope for the future of humanity and our beloved planet! Wish I could be in New York or Washington, but am thrilled that there are movements in my locality that I can get involved with. We are so lucky to live in these times to witness this incredible evolutionary process. My cup runneth over with love for my brothers and sisters!

Spiritual revolution

I think the best thing about Occupy Wall Street is that it may cause the "global elites" to force their hand and accelerate plans of global catastrophe, population reduction, and a docile, microchipped humanity. But when this happens, I feel that people will be ready now. They will know how to respond. I feel more optimistic about our situation than I have in a very long time.

The next big revolution will be based in a spiritual understanding that goes way deeper than the materialistic values of money. We need to stop all the negativity against religion and realize that it's up to us to control our spiritual destiny and create new religions based on freedom and following our own experiential wisdom. Such a religion could bring people together on a deeper level than just having a consensus and shared list of demands.

If we don't want to be controlled by money and are seeking alternatives, it's important to realize the answer to what's missing in our lives is a lot more complicated than merely issues of money. The spiritual life of modern society has become zombiefied beyond recognition and needs to be completely reimagined. A deeper look into group spirituality and the human condition could be the best opportunity for creating a revolution of human values beyond materialism and moving into a compassionate, equitable form of society.

The Whole World is Watching!! The Whole World is Watching!!

The revolution is here to stay and we are moving from the caterpillar to the butterfly. For so long we have been crawling as a species of people. The occupy movement can be portrayed as the cocoon encasing society through these occupy movements. The people that cover the streets of major city will not move, will not rest, will not stop spreading the truth until we have evolved and accepted our transformation into a higher state of being, a more free state of humanity. Just as the cocoon sheds and releases the butterfly so will the movement. We will not leave our streets until this transformation is complete and once liberty is achieved the people will shed from the streets releasing a new state of free liberated civilization. On a more intuitive level the revolution has the same feeling as someone staring at you from a distance. You can sense the person staring but can't see them. Your body becomes alert and you begin to search for the source of the observing presence. That observing presence isn't just one person but all of humanity, all of us beginning to awaken and realize that we control our destiny and it's up to us to create it. It's the future me it's the future you looking back onto ourselves watching ourselves observing our own actions waiting for us to join together end the violence end the greed end our fear of what we know we should become. Which is free people who's real purpose on this earth is to eliminate ignorance and embrace knowledge, embrace unity, embrace a golden age of global prosperity.

Beautiful- Agreed!

This made me think of an excerpt from Bill Plotkin's Soulcraft:

"There are three phases to the butterfly's life cycle: the larvae (caterpillar), the pupa or chrysalis (in the cocoon), and the imago (a mature adult, a butterfly). The transformational chrysalis phase is one of the greatest mysteries of biology. No one knows exactly how the caterpillar changes it's form in such a dramatic way. But this much is known: inside the caterpillar's body are clusters of cells called, of all things, imaginal buds. Imaginal refers to the imago, the adult phase, but it also means "to imagine", and psychologists use the word imago to mean an idealized image of a loved one, including the self. The imaginal buds contain the idealized image, the blueprint, for growing a butterfly. While the caterpillar goes about its earth-crawling business, these cells, deep inside, are imagining flight.

The caterpillar's immune system believes these imaginal cells are foreign and tries to destroy them, not unlike the way the uninitiated human egos and their egocentric cultures often try to destroy the soul, nature, and the feminine. It's as if the caterpillar doesn't realize it's own destiny is to become a butterfly. Likewise, the uninitiated ego doesn't realize its destiny is to become an agent for the soul. (It's no coincidence that the Greek word for butterfly means "soul.") Once in the cocoon, the buds link up, the caterpillar's immune system breaks down, and it's body literally disintegrates. The buds then build a butterfly from the fluid contents of the cocoon."

This is beautiful, thankyou.

This is beautiful, thankyou. Is it true the nascent Imago cells are perceived as foreign by the caterpillar? I had never heard that, and if true it makes the soul/butterfly conjunction yet more potent.

Naive

"The puncture has now become an unsealable rip in the fabric of Empire. Gas is escaping rapidly from the balloon." – I agree. But the gas is flammable. "We are seeing the inception of a global insurrection that will not end until the dominant system is overthrown and replaced through a planetary metamorphosis." – Again, I agree. But the metamorphosis is not gentle. It is a tumultuous, violent transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. The butterfly will emerge, but not before the caterpillar is destroyed. "The technical genius of humanity needs to be redirected from creating state-of-the-art video games and stock trading programs to strengthening natural resilience, building self-sufficient local communities that grow their own food, and launching social technologies that support collaborative decision-making and nonviolent communication." – Ok, Miss America. World Peace for 200 please. "The new paradigm that is opening before us demands that we take care of the human family as a whole, redistributing wealth and resources equitably." – Infamous battle cry of both the weak and less-weak who would enslave them. "We don't know what it will be like to live in a society where life is realized as the ends in itself -- where we seek to benefit the collective by nurturing and supporting each individual" – We do. We call it war. And we will know it again. "The goal is not the destruction of the ego but the attainment of an ego-free state -- liberation from the tyrannical demands of the ego, which can never be satiated." – Tyrannical demands of the ego? An ego-free state? I AM my ego, and you are yours. The goal is NOT an ego-free state, in which Men are ruled by the will of the collective like a hoard of zombies; neither is it an egotistical state, in which Men are ruled by other Men. The goal is a compromise: a state in which the ego is accepted, even revered – but always with the collective as the beneficiary of its selfish creations. We are One, but we are also many. E Pluribus Unim. "Humanity, as a whole, is rapidly losing our appetite for violence and destruction. We are increasingly sick of the negative patterns of the past, and ready to overcome the inertia." – The majority of Mankind has never enjoyed an appetite for violence and destruction. But destruction, often represented by violence, is nonetheless a fundamental constituent of existence. There can be no creation without simultaneous and equal destruction. I do not proclaim that the one causes the other, only that they are two sides of the same coin. Again, it is the metamorphosis. Due to our increased literacy and understanding of history, I agree that we are sick of the patterns of the past. The pattern will be broken shortly. We must, however, be prudent in our choice of direction for the future, for the choice IS ours. Collectivism, under any banner (Communist, Fascist, even Humanist) is not the answer. It is time that we recognize and accept the duality of our nature, One and Many, and organize a structure in which both are celebrated. "While that is humbling for a writer, it is beautifully satisfying for anyone who has awaited and anticipated, so impatiently and for so long, the metamorphosis that is now underway." – I have awaited, and I have anticipated. But for anyone who thinks this metamorphosis will be a smooth, blissful transformation into a collectivist world defined by sharing and caring...he is in for rude "awakening".

magic words

It may be that things will get incredibly vicious and violent. It may be that things will take a different turn. We do have to be careful about how we use language as the language we use acts as a magic spell that reinforces certain possibilities and denies other ones.

I disagree, for instance, about "simultaneous and equal" destruction and creation. I think the creation is greater than the destruction - otherwise life would never keep evolving to higher levels of complexity and self-knowledge.  We have to be careful about how we reify our beliefs and then impose them on a world that is ever-changing.

I also recommend you return to Jean Gebser's extraordinary analysis in "The Ever-Present Origin": When a new structure of consciousness emerges, it is extremely difficult for the previous structure to even recognize it as threat or to oppose it. If we are indeed, as I believe that we are, in the phase of rapid transmutation between the "mental rational" and "inegral" structures of consciousness, then the oppressive forces that are trapped in the older mode of perception and conceptualization will have a very difficult time understanding what the threat is or where it is coming from. It is a bit like being trapped in quicksand or a glue trap where every move you make ends up reinforcing the trap. I think what is happening now is that the system of Empire has increasingly less room to maneuver, constrained by its own inertia. The communications infrastructure that is leading to the rapid growth of poltical consciousness and social awareness is also the economic lifeblood of the post-industrial economy: To destroy that now would be for the society to give itself a mortal wound.

I think that the momentum is pointing toward peaceful supersession of the current system in a relatively short span of time. I am sure that all sorts of horrific counter movements could be attempted, and perhaps are being weighed now, in private meetings. But once social awareness goes past a certain tipping point - which it may already have reached - all of these moves will simply accelerate the growth of the counter-power as the multitude realizes its innate intelligence and begins to learn how to move its "body" as is now beginning to happen.

ALong with the lack of demands, the Occupy movement is assembling itself into a new social organism, extending its reach rapidly. It is fascinating what is happening - and I don't think it can be interrupted or aborted.

I recommend Gebser and Negri and Hardt's Multitude, also Arendt's On Revolution, and Pierre Claustre's Society Without a State as helpful texts for understanding the process now underway.

Submitting Control

Hi Daniel, great article. There is a panicky phase when we are about to abandon the "mental rational" and ego's innate distrust of non-self kicks in. It's one of the most threatening experiences you could have.

That is why most people supporting Occupy, want only reformation. Fairness and jobs, some transparency. Fear blocks their grasping that we are at the verge of a jump into another level of reality altogether.

And just as Gebser's model where previous mental constructs can't figure out the new formations we have as great example that the Status quo's critiques are about the lack of clear demands. Well that's! really the pivotal point where Occupy meshes with the new logical level. There wont be any more a State and the peoples making demands. We are about to Occupy our place as co-creators of a new world based under Cosmic premises.

magic words and responsible creation

I was compelled to finish a new blog yesterday in response to this thread and a dream that my husband had.

Occupying Our Destiny - The Butterly Becoming

A Call to Awaken to Our Responsibility and Potential as Creators of the Future

http://www.birchnest.com/2011/10/17/occupying-our-destiny-the-butterfly-...

I choose Love. I choose Peace. And I hope that others will choose what they truly want to see as well.

With Love and Hearts United We Will Succeed!

I wanted to share my dream again here, as an answer to the call that Daniel has issued for sharing of our holistic gifts and spiritual science specialities; my insight comes in large part through shamanic dreaming. In July I received a dream about this movement, though at the time I thought it was speaking metaphorically about people 'waking up' in regards to the coming shift, I realized when Occupy began that it was clearly spelling out the movement at hand. http://www.birchnest.com/2011/09/18/dream-guidance-unite-within-our-hear... I have no doubts that we are awakening to our divine potentials, increasing our awareness exponentially, and that the shift so often referred to is indeed upon us. And I am thrilled. This dream offered me a great deal of renewed faith and understanding in what this process can and will bring, and what is being asked of us in its success and creation. The Unification of our Hearts and Souls through Love. The most simple and the most powerful answer. Love is the salve that repairs all wounds, it is the opposite of the system which has been perpetuated for far too long. When you are in Love, unconditionally, with yourself, your fellow humans, your planet and all things conceivable and inconceivable, you are an unstoppable force for light and positive creation. Unfathomably more powerful than any lower vibration can achieve. We are the change we have been waiting for. I would suggest time in meditation, positive exchange of conversation with others, intentional manifestation of the future that we wish to see. Smiling more. Laughing more. Making a point to notice and contribute to the joy, and yes FORGIVENESS of the system and its contributors which have served their purpose- as all things serve a purpose- and at this point we are AWARE of that which must be created because of the collapse of that which must end. All things in the cycle of life. Every moment Holy. Releasing and processing our fear, our resistance to change, and channeling our anger positively will move us forward. Clinging to worn out ideas and limited victim thinking will not succeed, it will only frustrate you... and as the light shines brighter and our awareness increases, we will find that it doesn't even make sense anymore, despite our logical mind's best (ego) defense against shifting to the positive. Optimism is not naive, it is essential. I do not believe that there is an option for failure. There is no time left for the old paradigm anymore. Let it go. And welcome in the new with open hearts and souls united. #UniteWithinOurHearts

Naive or Nascent?

Always forward. Never straight. The Universal Underworld is upon us, and I agree that it is naive to think that there will be no large obstacles to overcome, or that they are all already past. The metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly may surely be seen as a violent one, but why the transformation in the first place? It is a natural process. Some are excited to see what it will be like to be a butterfly, and are hopeful that they may endure, minimize and overcome the violence inherent to the transformation, and others may feel anxious and afraid. There are many I'm sure, that would choose to remain a caterpillar, but they cannot. It is a matter of survival at this point. I don't believe that redistribution of wealth is the answer though. In fact that is one of the media's biggest critiques of the movement, that we want redistribution, without having to work for it, but it is much like the game of Monopoly. We don't want to start the game over, knowing in the end that there can only be one winner. We want to change the game. We need to reassess what we consider valuable. I don't want more wealth. I want what I already have to be more than enough, and I don't want to live under the threat that if I don't work and consume to build the wealth of the already affluent, that it might all be taken away.

Money!

Great insight on what is valuable and what is not. The wealth they are currently pushing on us is actually not wealth. Fancy food is unhealthful. All the biggest brands create products of inferior quality. Who wants the latest sports car if traffic jams are the standard?

All the good stuff doesn't cost much. I'm amazed at experiencing an increase in wealth in my own life and a decrease in quality of life.

"Look at all you derive out of being alive. He're is the best part, you have a head start... if you are among the very young at heart." What song is that?

It's certainly a relief

It's certainly a relief. We all knew something had to give.

Of primary importance is not who we are, or how we connect, or what particular ideas we have or vocalize, but THAT we are interconnected and capable of self-organization.

We're seeing this now in the emergence of the Occupy movement. The movement loses power when attempts are made to define it based on a particular grievance, and when it looks outside itself to the existing power structure to redress that grievance. Hence the frequent and derisive calls by the existing structure for the movement to state its demands, which would then allow those to be placated, addressed, derided or otherwise dismissed.

On the other hand, Occupy gains power when it seeks to supplant the existing structure, by simply having the audacity to EXIST. The General Assembly mechanism is the most powerful aspect of the movement in that respect. One can envision these local decision making bodies, which actually care about the needs of each individual in the locality, springing up everywhere, perhaps each including a few hundred individuals. And without any traditional "leadership," they create miniature cities complete with medical, logistic, legal, music and spiritual centers, food tents, libraries, media. Far beyond the noise of the protest marches and the disgraceful unconsitutional police brutality, the GA and the encampments are really revolutionary.

If you do nothing else, whether you agree or disagree with Occupy, attend GA or watch a livestream or read the minutes. Then at least you will understand Occupy.

I spent the weekend on Twitter, and being an obstinate non-user of social media, was struck by the breakneck pace and hit-and-run quality of the missives. As I allowed myself to venture into this intensely mind-full realm I realized that individual egos have little impact no matter how vitriolic they may present. One corrosive statement by one soul in one moment is quickly submerged in the deluge of communication, like a drop of hot water in the ocean. The collective temperature of the many drops is what matters more than anyone's fame or important idea or snarky comment.

I was able to penetrate the thick interpersonal boundaries and connect individually with exactly one person on Twitter this weekend. It was a GOP disciple who was disgusted by the "dirty" "hippies" who felt so "entitled". This person seemed the epitome of how the transcendant meaning behind Occupy is missed. Yet there was the familiar shared desperation and deep hurt underlying the vitriolic barrage of right wing talking points. So I "followed" this person and playfully lifted the conversation above the petty snit of left-right differences toward a recognition that we all created society's ills together over long periods of time, and that together we must transcend them. I hope this person takes my suggestion to attend GA soon.

GA

I hear you Z.  The GA is life changing.  Last night was a mind blowing exercise with an hour long stack on one proposal, the collective mind going back and forth with each speaker, the end result being a vote, no consensus, but a profoundly moving experience for most.  Many tears.  The GA is truly profound and should be experienced by all if one has any hope of truly understanding Occupy.

Agree in the main, however....

It does not take much imagination to predict what kind of response the mainstream culture would give to the sharing of info on sacred medicine. It would perhaps be seized upon to further marginalize the movement. And, I don't think it's necessary. Sacred medicine is after all a means, not an end. We can and should speak of the states/levels of consciousness, moving beyond egoism, etc., and I think many are ready to hear and do that (and, judging from my children and other 'youngsters' I know, perhaps these indigos already embody the new consciousness). I wholehearted agree with the recommendations about 'alternative' practitioners sharing their work. But I believe the movement itself, being consensus-driven and compassionately supportive, already demonstrates the mindset 'we have been waiting for.' It is not the demonstrators that ought to know about sacred medicine, but those whose hearts are still closed.

Let's Not Forget About the Tea Party's Role

It's fascinating how the 2 sides are now very clearly defined as we near the battle for consciousness. The Tea Party representing several steps backward in consciousness vs the groups under the Occupy phenomenon. I imagine that there can be many parallels drawn between this world & the world that existed in 1772.

...

It's the Me Party or the We Party.  That's the difference.

Oww Man , Babylon is finaly

Sorry but I've seen this before

A few thousand people occupying parks in major cities isn't going to bring down the old order.

I am sympathetic to the many of the objectives but I think you are naive and have no sense of history.

Jim Cross

http://www.broadspeculations.com

I have to agree...

I agree with jimcross.

When we start seeing demonstrations and reactions like you're seeing in Greece, then you can claim something big is happening.

Until then, what we're seeing is a lot of privileged white kids who regret getting degrees in useless subjects and are now upset that they're $200,000 in debt.

Besides them I'm seeing  a lot of the same curmudgeons and cranks I've seen at every demonstration in Manhattan for the last 25 years.

Sorry Daniel, you're grasping very desperately at straws. At least insofar as you believe any of this signals some sort of species wide transformation of consciousness.

If you folks could only take a big step back and look at yourselves and the headspace you occupy you might realize how naive, at best, and deluded, at worst, this all looks.

There are more than 1 billion Muslims on Earth. Let me break the news to you, they have never heard anything about this transformation in consciousness you're all longing for. There are 1 billion Han on Earth. The overwhelming majority have not only not heard about this but would think this talk is all unbelievably goofy.

I know, you folks have all bathed deep in the ocean of psychedelia, and you know so much more than all of us nearly 7 billion Earth bound fools.

I know all of you mean well, and there is no denying there is a lot wrong with our modern civilization, but stop fooling yourselves into believing you represent some sort of vanguard that has seen the TRUTH and will now lead the rest of us mere mortals to the next stage of enlightenment.

Talk about delusions of grandeur. Folks, get a grip on yourselves and realize most of humanity is not behind you or with you, and their desires for a better society stand in direct opposition to your ideas.

Daniel, explain to me how you would convince any population of Orthodox Muslims that your vision for an equitable society based on a post modern libertine lifestyle will benefit them. Are you ready to convert to Islam first? Because otherwise none of them will listen to you.

You folks need to come back down to Earth before anyone grounded in everyday reality will take you seriously.

we are the egos we have been waiting for

I concur with these sentiments, mostly, and I'd like to hear Daniel's response to them.

There is a circular logic in the ra-ra-ra idealism of psychic revolutionaries/advocates of a global shift which is hermetically sealed, self-sustaining wishful thinking that tends towards delusion, IMO. Because we are becoming informed/"turned on" to "higher" meaning and purpose, we are the spear-head of a global shift; and because we perceive/experience a global shift happening, we must be turned on to what's really going on.

There's a value judgment there that's rooted in the same value system that is supposedly being overturned. Revolutionaries are fighting for their rights to have a better life - not to transcend their identities. Spiritual seekers are doing the same. It's all we know how to do....

Carpe diem

As the door is standing a little ajar, I’d appreciate it if we could just all put our shoulders to it to bust it open – rather than chatter about the merits of veneer

All I know

is that if we do not evolve our society and our idea of what being alive is, we will lose it all. It is no longer possible to sustain our life in this system. It is no longer possible to be human in this system. I honestly think that we must do whatever it takes to usher in the new golden age, even if that means fighting back the system that oppresses us. In my mind, the most honorable act that one can make is to sacrifice oneself for the benefit of others, for the benefit of all, for the betterment of the world. I believe this is the highest form of good in the universe - to be able to die for your brother. It is the time to be selfless, and in some way, I think that you will be rewarded greatly for this.

My 1st General Assembly

I attended my 1st general assembly this past Sat. It was a beautiful experience. There were 2 news articles on it, one positive, one negative. Both articles received both supportive and negative comments. The negative comments made me aware of how far apart we are in our beliefs.

One second I'm touched by how much people are willing to give of themselves, the next second, I'm disheartened by how far we have to go. I wish we had more uplifting comments. What a whirlwind of a time we live in. Here's the negative article.

http://www.redbankgreen.com/2011/10/occupiers-occupied-with-organizing.html

communication is the way

Events are unfolding fast indeed. And everyone on both sides of the issue agree something big is coming soon. Our language is evolving as fast as our need for spiritual growth. Our dramatic increase in communication is no coincedence. And i think it will play a major role as both catalyst for our evolution and the easing of the more violent aspects of it. Networking sites are changing how people relate to one another. It seems as though we are being prepared by the collective unconscious to be more sympathetic to global awakening. Maybe this wont have to be as violent as it could be. Im not naive, i know how easy of a step violence is with people, like the violence of the police towards the protesters. But we must be carefull not to expect violence or risk being defined by it. We are destined to be a butterfly and bringing the negativity of expected violence will corrupt this transformation. Our duality is not good vs evil its understanding vs ignorence. And reaching a higher level of consciousness is the goal of all people even if they are unaware of it. So while a few maybe opposed on the whole humanity is moving toward this together. So where will these obsticles come from? Our ego! So the only real obsticle we face is our self. This age of information is quickly breaking down our old view of self. There for breaking down the only obsticle we face. Soon its replacement will be at hand and I believe we will be pleasantly surprised when it happens.

The Only Obstacle

Always forward. Never straight. "the only real obstacle we face is our self". Yes! Let's disintegrate the uninitiated ego! Just Imago!

missing the key needed ingredient

"The new paradigm that is opening before us demands that we take care of the human family as a whole, redistributing wealth and resources equitably."

Yes, and the source of true wealth and resources is the Earth, therefore what is necessary is a REDISTRIBUTION OF LAND. So many people are talking about the need for living more simple natural lives, but somehow miss the reality that we need tax/cost free land in order to do that! Without our fair-share to our birthright as humans we remain in the money-matrix of artificial scarcity, dependency and exploitation. This is so crucial, and simple, yet for some reason (techno-industrial/social-system indoctrination/conditioning would be my guess), many people don't get this yet.

It is really great to see Occupy Wall St. and all the other Occupy groups/activism that have sprung up in the States and World-wide, and the idea of occupying some land is very on-target, but to do so only to petition for politicians/bankers/corporations to stop being greedy and destructive, is not. That doesn't work, as history shows. The ruling class actually can't help but be that way, they are just symptoms of a deeper disease; the social-system they operate within (like any social-system) is inherently unjust and unprincipled in many ways, most importantly by forcibly disconnecting us from the Earth through land control/taxation.

Representative democracy is a lie, it can only exist at the most localized of levels, in which you are not subordinate to any false authority. The answer is to occupy land and claim it as a human right, to claim sovereignty on your fair share of the Earth that you and your family can live self/community-sufficiently and sustainably on. We can't, and shouldn't even try (which would just legitimize their false authority) to change this system of human farming into something truly principled; we should choose to live in harmony with Nature and each other instead by establishing sovereign homesteads making up voluntary communities. I believe this movement will not produce lasting and comprehensive positive change unless it incorporates the crucial truth that all social systems are inherently unnatural and unprincipled and therefore will always cause destruction. If you can't end your monetary slavery, if you cant live freely and naturally, then you are just petitioning for better jail cells. Occupy Wall St. groups should join in solidarity with groups like The Land & Freedom Camp (http://landandfreedom.squat.net/), The Land is Ours and Tir Na Saor, that are talking about our (dis)connection to the Earth being fundamental, then there would actually be real potential for positive change.

Yes Daniel!; Ahriman's Reception in Our Time

Glory glory, hot damn, and I couldn't concur more, brother. There will be no bargaining with the minions of the Ahrimanics and other denigrated supernatural lots; as Steiner indicated: what will matter is how Ahriman's incarnation (in our time) is received by humanity, how will humanity meet he and his streams of materialism, philistinism, fear, and dry intellect. Consciousness explosion, that's how he's being greeted on this plane! Your message rings true: yes, as so many Avatars have redounded – it is not a political solution, but a spiritual solution that we must embrace to evolve. I've been ecstatic and invigorated to be a part of the movement and write for RS, brother. Keep up the amazing work, Daniel. We have waited long enough. Peace and love. Jay Van Liere

Redistribution of Land

Always forward. Never straight. YES! Now you're talking. I recently got a book called The Urban Homestead, which is great, but I love the idea of Gorilla gardening. Just start growing food and medicine everywhere. Worked for Cuba.

Hasta la victoria siempre!

“Let me say at the risk of seeming ridiculous that the true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love.” Ernesto Che Guevara "It's gonna take a lotta love" Neil Young! ...but the fight will get more bitter and violent the bigger the movement becomes. Let's be under no illusions: the capitalist would rather destroy the world than give up his (sic) power and domination. And he is doing... Big love to you all

A MUST WATCH: Chris Hedges: "What happens is in all of these movements ... the foot soldiers of the elite -- the blue uniformed police, the mechanisms of control -- finally don't want to impede the movement and at that point the power elite is left defenseless ... the only thing I can say having been in the middle of similar movements is that this one is real, and this one could take them all down ... I can guarantee you that huge segments of those blue uniformed police sympathize with everything that you're doing." -- Pulitzer Prize winner Chris Hedges brings his 20 years of experience as a war correspondent, having covered movements and revolutions throughout the the world, to the discussion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj8UlxhfJLw

A MESSAGE TO THE OCCUPY WALL STREET MOVEMENT

Your courage and your commitment are commendable, but your objectives are far from clear. You appear to be concerned with the restructuring of your own American Economy in a way that enables a more equitable distribution of income…in other words you want a larger share of the American pie than you have been able to grab so far. That is what it looks like to me from out here on the other side of Earth and I find this both selfish and disappointing. I see very clearly that the vision and values on which the currently dominant global civilization are based are the vision and values of your “American Dream” where everyone has a nice American style house with a yard and swimming pool and pet dog or two, at least one and probably more nice American style motor vehicles to ride to work in, a nice American style television and multi media set up, a refrigerator, electric cooker, airconditioning system, a computer or more in every home, a college education and a job that pays money that has real purchasing power not just in America but all over Earth, the surplus to take a holiday every year and so many more of these “nice” things. I also see very clearly that if all of us were to have these nice things that you take for your objective, the energy used to create them and to operate them would send such a great cloud of poisonous gases and carbon into Earth’s atmosphere that many of us and you would be poisoned and the rising temperature would soon roast us as well as all living things on Earth, alive. So while I wish all of you well in your attempts to grab more of the American pie for yourselves and as you invite the Europeans and the British to grab more of their respective European and British pies for themselves I would like to remind you that for me out here on the other side of Earth the priorities for the whole human species and for Earth herself look very different. My primary concern is that the currently dominant global civilization that you have brought about through the obsessive generation of desires and the compulsive search for their satisfaction through the consumption of our universal environment has led to Rapid Resource Depletion(RRD), Pollution and Global Climate Change(P&GCC), Global Monetary Collapse(GMC) and the astonishingly incredible and utterly naïve Growth Model of Development(GMD) and have reached the point where they threaten all life on Earth. To me it seems as though your current concern and consequent agitation arises from the impact of Global Monetary Collapse(GMC) which is a consequence of the currently dominant Global civilization that you have built and which you recommend to us all. This is only one of the weak points of this civilization but it is not the worst by far. The impact of Pollution and Global Climate Change(P&GCC) is poised to hit us all at any moment in ways that we cannot even imagine at the present moment and when it does neither your bankers nor your government will have a clue as to how to respond. Rapid Resource Depletion will make it very difficult to maintain the technologies that are required to support the global human population and make it impossible to bring about changes in these technologies that are required to contain pollution and to make them sustainable. Finally to cap it all it seems absolutely crazy to continue to follow the Growth Model of Development if it is based on non renewable resources, as indeed it is. Now I have no wish to be wicked or nasty, but it seems to me that busting the banks and beating up the bankers and vilifying the rich are simply not going to solve this situation we have created. We need to generate a new civilization that is sustainable and that has a clear and meaningful objective like for instance “the facilitation of life’s evolution through and beyond human being and its universal spread” instead of merely generating desires and seeking their satisfaction through the consumption of our universal environment. We will need the best of our thinkers, and the most creative of our technically qualified people to accomplish this task, and yes, while money continues to have value we may have to persuade the super rich to invest in the work that has to be done and we may need bankers around to manage these mega investments until money loses its meaning and gives way to other ways of resource management. I am sorry if I have been boring or if I have disturbed the fiery mettle that you have primed for the battle for a bigger share of your pie, but this is what I see from the other side of Earth and I think you would do well to pay it some attention.

don't be hooligans

Remember friends that at any event we attend that we pick up our trash and keep the environment and area we are at clean and junk free. Also, we should be kind to any who may join us and/or are observing. It is important that we reflect the values of kindness and goodwill. If we want to effect POSITIVE change than we must reflect those values in our behavior and interactions with each other and the environment. Like Bob Marley said "One Love".

American Pie and Back to Reality

Always forward. Never straight. To our friends on the other side of the world, I'm worried that some of you may be witnessing this event through the filtered lens of the news media, which in many instances so far has portrayed the movement as a bunch of lazy, drugged out hippies that want a free hand out, but I believe that most of these people aren't looking for a bigger slice of the pie. Instead, they are angry that a few selfish individuals have gobbled the whole thing up, and left it to everyone else to do the dishes. Most of us, I believe, are very concerned about the same things as you: Pollution and global climate change,RRD, and GMC. The practices of Big Business and the government which is largely funded by them have stood in the way of making any real attempts to deal with these issues, and that is what people are angry about. The economy needs to be the first thing addressed because it is so deeply infused in every other aspect of life. Think about it. Spirituality is a business. Sexuality is an industry. Every breathe you take can be appropriated, put up for sale and advertised as what you absolutely need to be happy and find love. To everyone else who is pessimistic about this movement and only have discouraging words to offer, if you project negativity, then that is what you will percieve, and if you percieve negativity and don't know any better, then you just might project it. Imagine if Peter said to Jesus, "Dude, you need to get your head down out of the clouds, get down off of that cross and step back into reality. Son of god?, King of the Jews? The Romans are never gonna buy it, let alone the other jews." As far as evolution of human conciousness goes, we'll see. Evolution viewed through the framework of a few years probably looks like a dismal failure. Give it time. The creatures and lifeforms of this planet didn't need to believe they would evolve to do so. It is a natural process. I am not Muslim, so I don't believe I can speak for Islam as a group, but I'd have to think that at least some individuals would be sympathetic to the idea of Americans occupying their own country for a change. There are millions of people on this planet that have never made a phone call. They're not the ones who's minds we have to change. To everyone who believes that Occupy Wall Street will fail, I submit to you, that if the idea was to occupy Wall Street, then it has already been a success. To my Knowledge, Wall Street is currently Quite literally occupied. It's too bad George W. didn't save that "mission accomplished" banner he had made. It might have come in handy right about now.

global movement fighting for global change

The development of unit economics, politics, culture and activity in the network system of global relations develop and change unity the alternatives. There are many reasons behind the sophistication of the network system of global relations. And that changing the global system requires a global movement fighting for global change. That the vision of global change will take shape in the course of the development of this global movement.

Deal with the real matrix

Most mainstream Christians can agree that they believe yeshua Ben joseph came to free us from the law. Study law and trust law and you will find that we gave the 1% the power to abuse us. It is our "fault" we are bound in this situation. We must not abrogate ourselves from the responsibility to our ancestors and the flow of herstory. What does it mean to be freed from the law? Whose law? I never think it was meant to mean freedom from god's law. Rather freedom in god's law (whom YOU are an expert and supreme justice inside of) as opposed to being held in dominion by a fictional concept of man's design in imitation of the real godiverse. Yes, the matrix is real, the corporation is the machine gods binding us down in front of advertising everywhere we go and making us think it's freedom. If we all really want hold the abusers accountable and stop the wholesale destruction running rampant then we must understand how through SPIRITUAL contracts comprised of ceremony and word magic we have voluntarily (if ignorantly) plugged our energy bodies into the mainframe of top down hivemind control structures. The true grid of godiverse laws is still in existence and is still recognized by the foundation of our corporate existence. If they did not recognize it we could not have voluntarily plugged in.There is always a remedy in the word magic of law. It is what gives word magic it's potency. Find the remedy. Apply the remedy. Hold the 0.01% accountable. We are not chattel if we assume our true role in this system we (including ancestors) brought into existence. When we celebrate our new independence day I hope it won't be with loud explosions.

'The revolution will be

'The revolution will be spiritual in essence -- or it is doomed to repeat the horrific mistakes of the past, and fail.'

I think this from Bruce Lipman is relevant and helps articulate the kind of change needed/ is taking place.

He talks of how rather than allow ourselves to habitually fall back into behaviours arising from the default programs of our subconscious mind, drilled into us as children, which if I understand correctly account for 95% of our thoughts and actions, we should learn through mindfullness (akin to the state of being in love) to direct our lives from the conscious mind. I was thinking the 99% refered to by the movent could be analogous to the 95% of our mind which is subconscious and automated and badly programmed (by society) but is becoming aware of it's tremendous power to consciously direct.

This is exactly what I

This is exactly what I thought when Occupy Wall ST began...well in obviously many more articulate words than I can think of....it reminds me of this quote from this book I read years ago, 2012: Crossing the Bridge to the Future by Mark Borax:

"Humanity's going to get very confused in the coming years and will need help as the new clashes with the old. Priestesses and yogis and shamans must rise from the ranks of secretaries and salesmen. Mundane life must split open its sacred core. We can no longer pretend to be normal. We're entering crisis, and everybody's recruited to dig for something deeper."

It is my hope to accomplish what Daniel talks about here to with my own website www.spiritofspider.com, to which I oddly enough began on September 17, same say as Occupy Wall ST. I guess the stars must have aligned that day! Thank you Daniel for articulating all the hopes, wishes, and emotions I have been feeling for very long as well.

a light shines brightest in the dark

i do not understand the how of what is happening and do not know what will happen however when i look back even a short time i see how far we have come so i am quite positive that it doesn't stop here. We are creating our story as we live it with our words, our thoughts, our actions so it would seem that as we move forward it will become increasingly important for each of us as individuals to conciously dream not with our minds but with our hearts.

Thanks for the articulation.

Thanks for the articulation.

PS

Thanks also to the internet for connecting us into the ascending consciousness that we now see in the streets of the world's cities right now. It is arising organically , infinitely better than any prescribed doctrine .Nature has a mind that moves through us and everything else and the pace is gathering. It appears too late for the old empire and gold is not food at the end of the day. I was born "66 ,and what I've learned about the 50s & 60s suggests to me that for a short while Divinity poked its head through and into the western consciouness, just long enough to make a lasting impression before prohibition and oppression abruptly tried to stamp it out. The solution today must enable an escape from the current paradigmn.Thank goodness for the clandestine orders of alchemists and psychedelic researchers that kept the flame burning. The psychedelicised transcendence of so many young and old minds in the 60s was a massive evolutionary shock impulse that could only have ended (so abruptly) as unfinished business in the collective psyche. Great times to be be alive.

2012 documentary

Hi Daniel,I'm a big fan of your work. I teach 8th grade english and social studies and my students are obsessed with 2012. I would really like to show them your 2012 documentary but I fear that I would lose my job for the references to entheogens. If you were to make a version of the documentary without any references to psychadelics, it would be very valuable for the young children who are immersed in mainstream media and would like to wake up and move us towards a better future. Thanks,Bobby

Stay-Pufted Marshmellowman Nightmare

When I saw the YouTube video of Lt.John Pike ostentatiously shaking his can of pig's piss in the face of peacefully protesting kids and pepper-spraying them as though they were lice, I though this guy couldn’t be a more wonderfully odious parody of a fat fascist pig if he tried. He is so much the cartoon slapstick villain in his plodding rotundity, so thuggishly dishonourable in his ill considered actions, the motto on his crest must surely read “Banality of Evil” or maybe some equally trite cliché of the Clancy Wiggum variety. The mentality of the U.C-Davis goon squad was so malodorous of dumb white-trash America, it was surreal, and fitting to hear the University’s Chief of Police claiming right of defence; that her officers, (videoed from every angle sadistically pepper-spraying peaceful sitting protesters), had in fact been surrounded by threatening students, couldn’t find an exit, and just wanted to go home. When chasing a car on a highway Chief Wiggum of 'The Simpsons' was asked to describe his location, and replied "I'm on a road, looks to be asphalt--aw jeez, trees, shrubs--uh, I'm directly under the earth's Sun...now." When asked to explain her authorization of police force on UC-Davis students Chancellor Katehi said she had ordered police to take down the UC Davis Occupy encampment in the interests of "student safety." Here life parodies The Simpsons, or some tweeked out American horror-comedy where the retarded psychy of a trash T.V. culture takes corporeal form, lurching out of the television like a stay-pufted marshmellowman nightmare.

As an aging hippie who participated in Lou Gottlieb's Digger Farm/Morningstar Ranch communal experiment in the Sixties, I warmly embrace the Occupy Movement as"Morning Star Faith" going viral. For a look at the Morning Star Faith document, go here: http://badabamama.com/manifesto2/AM-32.html
