Nights of Noise

For the past fifteen years, Phil Kline's Unsilent Nights have encouraged a surprising melange of traditional group participation and individual expression. To create the "outdoor ambient music piece for an infinte number of boomboxes," participants bring their own boomboxes and broadcast music while marching en masse with others doing the same -- creating a "BIG (and joyful) noise."
The free, all-ages, no-RSVP-required events take place in various cities worldwide throughout December, as indexed on the Unsilent Night map. Some cities have established their own sites, and galleries of previous events will inspire you whether you're near an event this year or not.

Double trouble
It's also great fun when Santacon runs into them for added spontaneous hijinks.
