Lifting Poverty

Ed Parris of Sabellapress has released "Unhoused Voices: Granting Change for the Homeless," an anthology of short stories and poetry confronting modern homelessness.

His goal with this collection, which spans over fifty contributors, is to "...give a voice to the invisible," challenging the common prejudice that ignores those less fortunate, raising questions as to who is truly visible within society.

"Unhoused Voices" is part of Sabellapress' Granting Change project, where a new anthology will be released every six months regarding vital social issues.

re: Lifting Poverty

Of the many reasons a writer chooses to write, the desire to affect social change is among the greatest. Indeed, the United States of America was founded upon the words that brave patriot writers distributed through pamphlets, newspapers and books. We live in tough times with many challenges that require new ways of doing business and new ways of relating to our world. It is with an honest desire to discover and publish the voices of change that Sabellapress has initiated the Granting Change Project. Sabellapress will publish a series of anthologies themed around vital social issues; such as, but not limited to, homelessness, poverty, youth issues, domestic violence, veterans’ issues, metal health. These anthologies will contain the best poetry, fiction and non-fiction we can find from professional writers as well as people who are directly involved in the issue, such as social service practitioners, teachers, victims, or anyone who has a valuable story to tell.
