The Last Days of Goa

crystal390.jpg

“Liquid Crystal Vision”  is a one hour movie-trip that mixes trance music, Indian Sadhus, Goa party-goers, visuals, Terence McKenna and lots of inspirational psychedelic raps.

The film was done in 2002 and mixes a kind of documentary style with a psychedelic style into some kind of "psychumentary". Taking the viewer around the world from Japan and Laos to Goa and Angkor Wat, the movie documents the 1990s, a decade which might be called 2nd psychedelic age.

We motored on in search of one nice beach to relax at and eat some lunch since we had struck out all day. This is what a typical road around the beaches of Goa look like. We went furhter on and found ourselves on the main bridge to Panaji, the capital of Goa. This was a bad thing, because we didn't have helmets (they didn't have helmets to give out of course) and that was illegal on the main road. Everyone had them but us, and being tourists we were prime bait for police harassment and extortion really. Also, technically you are supposed to have an international drivers license to ride a bike, and we didn't have that either. Not that any tourist does (well, maybe a handful, but I've never met one of them), but that would be another thing for the police to get us on. We hurridly turned around to get back to the relative safety of the tourist beaches, hoping we wouldn't see any traffic police in the next few minutes. Property sale tips

Last fall, we published the 10 Best Lunches Under $10 in Union Square. It was so popular, we figured why not do every neighborhood? So we asked Eater editor and 7x7 contributor Carolyn Alburger to give us her 10 favorite dishes under $10 found in her home turf, the Haight-Ashbury. Check out our other 10 under $10 features while you're at it.In the Haight-Ashbury, it's much easier to score weed than a good bite to eat. Here, perfectly dingy, storied watering holes, tie-dye t-shirts, tattoo parlors and tourist-magnet Ben & Jerry's run the show. If you're hungry, here's where to go. quick your house sale
