Lakota Secede from the US!

The latest buzz on the indy news and amongst the politically savvy is the recent secession of the Lakota Nation from the United States. On December 17 the Lakota nation withdrew from the treaties signed with the government of the United States. Lakota representatives delivered the statement to the State Department as well as the embassies of Bolivia, Chile, South Africa and Venezuela.
In a recent interview in Asheville, NC Pine Ridge citizen, Canupa Gluha Mani stated the U.S. never lived up to the terms of the treaties. The Council of Headsman, the traditional Lakota governing body, decided to withdraw from the treaties signed with the United States two centuries ago. Canupa states, "The withdrawal gave us the ability to regain our natural practice of law and that is being free...The Lakota are tired of being subjugated to colonial policies and infractions. The accountability of justice never was kept." In a call to other nations to support freedom Canupa said, "I encourage other nations to rise up and do the same...so our children do have a future and because if we don't take the responsibility of what is coming then there is no tomorrow."
