Indian Psychedelia From the 70's

Indian Animator Ishu Patel was making some highly metaphysical, highly imaginative and exquisitely done videos back in the 1970′s. “The Bead Game”, which won Patel a nomination for an Academy Award in 1978,  is a never ending chain of death and rebirth--of things flowing into and out of one another, falling apart, and creating new life. It's a consciousness expanding beaded version of the game of existence.

Very cool. One thing, though. Patel is Indian, but this film is Canadian. Patel made it with the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), where he spent 25 years honing his craft and developing new animation techniques.
