A Rising Dream-Star

A new animated film series, "Illuminated" is scheduled to release this year, and it's getting quite the buzz. The plot line will be appealing to many RS readers. Somewhere, in the not too distant future, the planet is facing extreme enviornmental changes. Old economic systems are failing, and people have lost their ability to dream.

Dream-stars take the place of dreaming, and every night people tune into their favorite dream-stars who take them on virtual adventures as they sleep.

Aya is one of the biggest new stars. And every night she takes people on adventures to the most spiritually charged places on the planet. Accompanied by her guru, Shen, she learns the deepest spiritual teachings on Earth. Her goal: to evolve the consciousness of the planet and to train people to dream again.

The production philosophy is progressive:

"We see the key to transforming the media landscape is manifesting a direct link between the content producers and audiences, and we're dedicated to forging new pathways into the collective pattern to making that so. This is the initial dropping point of this new paradigm of content," say Illuminated's creators.

Check out the trailer and buckle up for the adventures of the cleverly named "Aya."

Brilliant

Looks fantastic, I can't wait to see/experience Illuminated! Cheers for posting, Adam. Have you seen Paprika by Japanese animator Satoshi Kon? An experimental dream machine that allows a therapist to enter the dreams of patients is stolen (similar plot to Wim Wenders' Until The End Of The World). Incredible film, but Illuminated is the answer to my dreams. ~ www.dailygrail.com ~

Hi Aya!

Wow...  Nicely done.

Does this count as under the radar?  It's just the Japanese name meaning "colorful" or "silk," right?  Hai, Aya. ;-)

Coming soon...?

In 2033 according to techno-funster, Ray Kurzweil: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7258105.stm

Great news Ray. Meanwhile, lets hope the oil fields keep refilling, like the wine vats at Cana...

The dystopia projected by Illuminated seems to be near identical with our current situation - it'll be interesting to see how they dream themselves free.

Here's an interesting essay, "The Coming Collapse of the Age of Technology:" http://tiny.cc/UKKaF

Perhaps it might also be read as The Coming Collapse of the Mentalised Being.
