X-Clan

Need to get Brother J from X-Clan in there. Easily that was one of the most successfully spiritual hip-hop groups to make the mainstream. Especially the "Xodus" LP. That wasn't just straight Fire. That was Fire, Water, Air and Earth! If that kind of lyrical prowess crept back into Hip-Hop I might be compelled to dig my headphones back out of that old storage box of mine. www.sniffcode.com

maaaaaaannnnn..... I wish I

maaaaaaannnnn..... I wish I could go to these type of things. Feelin isolated doing my music down here in the Tenn-A-Key. just wait till I get all my material organized. Gone turn ya heads wit laser sharp attention. Kush!Kush!

Steady Workin

I am very happy about this event.

It has been a long time in the making

and there have been a number of people who have helped graciously. This was done with no budget, just some crumbs from my own pocket. But through buildin in a one on one fashiongood people signed on.This is only the first installment.

There will be more in the future.

I hope to get a last minute guest or two for thishopefully a lady, unfortunately because of time constraintsI was not able to secure a woman or two to speak, and that is on me. My bad for thatBut like I said, there will be more events in the future

sniffcode, that's so funny, or synchronistic perhaps, that you mentioned X-Clan.I just arrived home from Harlem where Dr. Shaka Zulu and Bambaataa have their radio showAnd who was in the studio tonight? That's right Brother J and his peoples.

I believe he said X-Clan has a new album dropping soon

I am feeling very good about this eventand how things are shaping for the warmer months here in NY.

I see very good things in the future for all of usinvolved in that upper echelon discussion of mind meeting matter in expansive and gracious ways.

spiritual hip-hop

I was never much into hip-hop until a friend turned me on to spiritual hip-hop this past January, Immortal Technique and Blue Scholar are amazing. I'm gonna have to check out some of the guys in this article.

Hope you have another

Wish I would of known earlier, Being born with Hip Hop I grew with it but a little disappointed on the materialistic form it has taken. Hip Hop does have a soul & I have seen it grow into a spoiled brat. It has the power to speak to our generation but being misused. It voices hope being born out of the darkness of America to transform the face of it the last 20 years. I love Hip Hop & all the underground artist keeping the real alive, it was to be about love, having a good time & uniting the community. This is an awesome sight & I am glad to see their are people doing good for humanity, especially USA but we are all part of one race the human race. thank you. see you in the future

Hip Consciousness

When I think "Hip-Hop" and "Consciousness", I immediately think of:

Souls of Mischief

Opio

Del tha Funkee Homosapien

Hieroglyphics

These crews have strayed away from the mainstream slave record labels and delved into the act of creating their own record label to spread the word on whats up. Twisting and re-defining the definition of how words can be used to make ephoneous and rythmatic patterns of rhyming madness, these crews have kept it true and have stayed close with each other throughout there music making career, raping about Meditation, higher levels of human awareness, creativity and it's importance, etc. Just spreadin' the love.

On the flip side, this event should be awesome, are there going to be recordings of this event? I would love to get my hands on some old-school enlightened Hipppppity-Hop discussions. Keep it real RS.

 PEACE

Yes the event was recorded and I am in the process of editing it.

Hopefully it will be up on the net soon

 Thanks!

I hope there would be

I hope there would be another one this year.. every year. The fact that hip hop is not just a music genre, the new generations should be educated and how to cope with such trends. Hip hop clothing has becoming a way of expression aside from music and I hope the a discussion should focus only to this matter.
