Growing Up Psychic

Authors Caron B. Good and Tara Paterson share their experience as a parenting coach and parent, respectively, providing guidance for other parents and caretakers of children gifted with powers of intuition and other parapsychological talents. From recognizing intuitive talents to developmentally appropriate guidance, Raising Intuitive Children offers support for parents in nurturing these childhood talents and offers stories from families who have worked with their children to improve the talents of intuitives and empaths.
Raising Intuitive Children explores how to determine if a child is intuitive, but the book may be beneficial to all parents and those who would like to develop their own adult intuition. Parenting styles, environmental toxins and diet and nutrition are addressed as contributors to the sliding scale of intuitive capabilities.

raising pecunia
i thought this was a spiritual site, but everybody here tries to sell something, even at the cost of children. i dont know how to feel about this, should i get mad or sad or just indifferent.

Indigo to Intuitive...
I am inclined to agree with Pyrrho.
I wonder what the rationale is for this post beyond advertising?
Hmmm....
On the one hand, the advertisement shouts bring to mind Adbusters, and the redonkulous consumerism that has seeped into the "Spiritual" industry...and I appreciate the concern and questioning...
However, I can't really think of what may be more important than raising conscious healthy children, if advertising this book here can contribute to that on some scale then THANK YOU FOR ADVERTISING THIS BOOK!
I wonder....
My impression from the intro here on RS is that the book is not about helping kids to be 'conscious' and 'healthy'and happy (all laudable aims) but 'psychic'.... for parents who perceive their children as being 'gifted with parapsychological talents' That seems different to me.
The difficulty for me may lie in the way that the intro here describes it.
I wonder whether this coaching approach is desirable and may lead to parents coaching their kids with their own aims rather then the true well being of the child at heart. 'My child is extra special, she is 'psychic' kind of thing. It reminds me of the 'Indigo Children' fad among afffluent New Agers.
I would think that a lot of parents in the present economic climate are just trying to make ends meet and put a roof over their family's heads.
There are so many 'experts' these days ... psychotherapists, counsellors, clinicians, 'gurus'. We are all wounded and need healing it seems. So many weekend courses and retreats and they all cost money. Sometimes big big bucks.
This book might be great and just pushing my own buttons about money (a significant topic at this time).
Kids already seem so hot-housed like exotic orchids needing to be protected from a hostile and dangerous world (there is what I consider an alarmist article on one of the author's website about the internet teeming with predators and would be molesters and telling us not to post any family photos with a child in it at all). Sure, be sensible, don't allow young children unsupervised access to the Internet, but aren't we Anglo Saxons getting somewhat hysterical about this? Fearful children make fearful untrusting adults.
I am not a parent and if a book like this helps you mums and dads (and doesn't make you feel guilty that you aren't doing the best for your children) then go for it!One can take a look at the 'look inside' function on Amazon to get a better idea of its contents, ask your local library to get a copy. Money does not have to be involved where books are concerned.
Nothing is true that forces one to exclude.

advertising something free
Just to advertize something I only recently learned about: Google Books (just google it) is a service whereby you can preview some, if not all, of supposedly millions of books. You can't copy/paste, but you can read.
The book mentioned here has no preview available, but other books on this subject do.
I'll also add my voice that I appreciate "ads" like this one on the site, within reason. How much different is this than RS hosting a book discussion on Multitude, for example?
