Erin Shaw

The documentary-in-progress For the Next Seven Generations "tells the sory of thirteen indigenous Grandmothers who came together in 2004 to speak in one united voice so that they could awaken us to the catastrophic consequences we face if we don't change the way we relate to each other and to our Mother Earth." The Grandmother's prayers, ceremonies, and collaboration with other coalitions "work toward spiritual solutions for healing our planet and ourselves."

For the Next Seven Generations premieres Thursday May 1 at The Wild Project in New York. There is another screening Friday, May 2. Both screenings are followed by a silent auction of photographs as well as a Q and A with the director and one of the grandmothers. Tickets are $30 presale. More details can be found here.

i use to get these words in my head

from upon waking, some years ago i got the line, "the twelve grandmothers of space and time" so now it's 13, i did not know what it meant at the time, but i did not forget the line.
