Galactik Games

galacticsm.jpg

The Galactik Trading Card Oracle Complex offers mystical games, "meta-tarot" readings and a microgallery of entheo art. Featuring are by visionaries like Pablo Amaringo, Alex and Allyson Grey, Martina Hoffman, Nemo, Maura Holden, and Fred Weidman, the project is intended to "inspire the collective evolution of the conscious creative process."

And the art work is out of this world!

Hey, we just did a deck too!

This deck looks really cool. Several musician friends of mine and I just put together a deck of our own, "Bleak Strategies - rock ideas for the desperate". It's a tribute to the "Oblique Strategies" deck Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt developed in the 70's.

Peace to you,

david

The deck really is a fantastic "who's who" of the esoteric art world.

nerdy esoterica

so... is it also a game? the website is full of symbols i don't understand, and i couldn't figure that out yet. it's kind of amazing to me that this should suddenly appear before me as it parallels one of my recent thought projects quite directly. [woaw, just had an intense deja vu flash there] haha. i just woke up from a dream of drafting Magic: The Gathering cards this morning! (if you don't know what i'm talking about you might as well stop reading.) it was only about a year and half ago that i more or less quit the game after 5 or 6 years of playing it non-stop. strategically, it is without question one of the best games ever. it just started to drive me nuts how it totally disempowers and comodifies and commercializes the genuinely magical. the nearly all male prodominantly fast food fed player base gets tiresome to associate with after a while as well. the thought project is to try to figure out, now, how to put to use my insane skill, encyclopedic knowledge of cards and rules, and intuitive understanding of the subtleties of the game to some productive use. best idea i've come up with so far is to challenge local players to the 'mental magic' varient, wagering local art against donations to erowid.org. it would be a lot cooler to hybridize the game with environmental initiatives though. i'm going to have to learn more about this Galactic. maybe i can help out in some way. the owners of the nationwide chain of HobbyTown USA stores are friends of mine, if anyone is looking for a marketing in (they carry many UpperDeck products and also run collectable card tournaments on a regular basis).

Gaming interface

These cards are unsanely nice:D

They are like a gaming interface that hooks you on to the subtle energies of the world. As time passes and you try to work with these cards, they will let you know what energy they represent so you can read the energy of whatever you are into. I highly recommend these cards, both as an art gallery and also as this esoteric device. They inspire art and community creation:)
