Masking the Future's Past

This Friday, June 18th, wear your favorite masked disguise to The National Arts Club in NYC for a benefit supporting the creation of Future’s Past, a sculptural modern ruin to be built for the 2010 Burning Man event, by artist and NAC member Kate Raudenbush. Funky Breaks by DJs Morgan Stoner, Orion and LB3. Original Future’s Past art and jewelry, photography silent auction by Bailey Photography and Marc Whalen. Open beer and wine bar from 8-9pm. Revelry all night.
Kate Raudenbush is a photographer and sculpter working out of New York City. Her work focuses on themes of interactive social commentary and the use of expressive materials, ranging from plasma to wood to light. Her sculptures are interactive, giving the viewer a chance to experience the art rather than observe it. Her most recent venture is Future's Past, for Burning Man 2010. The Sculpture is described as "a monument to technological progress and unchecked consumptive collapse, as redeemed by the resilience of Natural forces and evolved consciousness."
